Let's say you don't want to marry in fear it's going to be messy if it doesn't work out, would you believe she had good intentions by offering to sign prenuptials? And would it change your view or mind?

If the guy was previously screwed over by an ex wife, I can see it. Other then that I don’t understand them, unless one party has a ton of money. I would be going into a marriage with having a house, so I would put something in place, so I can’t lose what investments I put into the place before them. This would only be in place for so many years though.

I don't understand prenups. Marriage is a life long commitment. Signing a paper that basically offers an easy way out is contradictive.

It would help. If a prenup survives a court challenge and is mutually agreeable, it is a chance for a couple to make their own rules for divorce instead of leaving it up to a judge. If you ever choose to do so, be sure that each of you have your own attorneys and adequate documentation that you weren’t pressured into it.

Judges toss out prenups all the time. Women will say "I signed it under duress" and it's gone. The system is THAT one-sided against men. What is needed is real legal reform, and it's going to have to come from women, because women are the ones who pushed for the current rules.

No because I don't see the point of marriage. Love and romance does not need marriage. Love and romance and commitment to the highest degree can exist without marriage. You can say you're married and not be legally married. Make up your own culture and drop transitions. Be creative. I don't know that's just what I think.

I meant if you were someone who was uneasy about getting married because of reasons like that, like you're scared of her taking your stuff.
Plus, I thought signing a prenup meant you wouldn't get the other person's things in a divorce?

If someone was primarily uneasy about that then a prenup would probably put their mind at rest. Because yes, a prenup is about making sure that you don't get the other person's things in a divorce. I don't know if that's the case with your boyfriend, and if that's what he's really concerned about. I thought he had expressed concern about entering into another marriage in general.
However, you asked what my opinion is for myself. And I value marriage extremely highly. I believe it is not a contract, where goods are exchanged. But it is a covenant, where persons are exchanged. And that covenant is for life. It is sacred. And I am not interested in getting into a covenant with someone who is already planning for failure.

As long as we both have lawyers of our own present during the production and signing of the prenuptial agreement, then we both can be put at ease since there is no possible way for the prenup to be easily dismissed by a judge.

No. I thought prenups should be the default option and anybody who says otherwise is a thief or an idiot, but they get thrown out so easily making it easier to just not get married. My girlfriend and I agreed we don't need a piece of paper or the government's permission to show that we love each other
