Boyfriend believes lies about me, what should I do?

Anonymous
All was well the first few months we were together. We loved and trusted each other. Until this one friend of his heard about us dating (she didn't like me before). He has this one girl friend who he's known for a long time who is really friendly to me but secretly dislikes me. Her and I have friendly talks then the next minute, same day, I hear her trying to get him to turn against me. A big instigator. I told her a few things about my boyfriend and she twists my words into something completely opposite. So I no longer mention my boyfriend to her. It is mostly just her and it is working. He is easily manipulated by her and she could tell him the most ridiculous stuff about me and he will believe it. She laughs about it too. He believes everything that comes out of her mouth. In the past she told him I flirt with other guys which is what messed him up badly.

He was able to trust me from that point until this rumor came. Some days he is mad at me and I never know what for until it boils up and he confronts it. Low and behold its something she told him. I do my best to show that he can trust me but as soon as he hears something it goes downhill. I also don't understand how this is working because my boyfriend is a strong, independent, highly ego confident person. Especially when we argue or if he argues with anyone else including HER, he stands his ground and gets his point across. He's getting stressed out over nothing and I don't know how to get him to trust me. I want to just end the relationship all together because it is odd to be dating a man who is against me and believes others over me but I know it will hurt him. What should I do?
