How come people get bent out of shape for me creating an short film that they deem is creepy?

So I'm an film maker and I create short films for fun. For the past two to three years I've created short films where I featured my favorite singer on there. It's just fan art for her and people are claiming that I'm harassing her for no reason. I'm creating an third and final installment to the series and people are trying to sabotage the release. People have threatened to call the police and FBI on me if I were to release it claiming that there will be a stalker trial. How come people have such of a big deal out of my films? Why do people keep on claiming its creepy? Should I just ignore people and do what makes me happy?
