Apparently I'm going to have to update this question because people seem to be taking it a little too personally. No, this question is not about me. Don't assume that it is. It was just something I'd seen somewhere. I don't think the cost should necessarily be split.

There are ways to get these things for free. Like have good insurance for BC and here in my town condoms are free at the public health center/some hospitals.
And personally in a committed relationship I see no need to even use birth control. I get others do tho

If 2 people love each other they should support each other whenever they can. I've never had a girlfriend ask my to pay for the pill but I paid for condoms. But if she needed me to I would help. There's too much divide between men and women these days, instead of supporting each other.

Personally I won't pay for birth control pills, taking then is her choice and her responsibility.
I will however buy my own condoms, it's the contraceptive I use so it's only natural as well.

However I'd be down to split the abortion bill if it ever came to that.

It would be in theory, but in practice. no. If the girl went on the pill or some other contraceptive, the guy would not give it a second thought..

I definitely think it's a good practice to have. It shows you're both trying to be equally responsible for your protection. Ideally, it wouldn't just be the guy or just the girl.
