When was the first time you fell in love, and did you end up with that person?

I had girlfriends from the age of 16. I was infatuated with each one. But the first time I loved a woman with my heart and soul was when I was 37. Petra was 30-31 and loved me, too. We lived together for over a year (we each had our own places).

Unfortunately, a lifetime together was not mean to be. We separated for complicated reasons that had nothing to do with cheating or anything mean.
It took me a year to pull myself together and get back out there. Two years later, I met my future wife and married her when I was 42.

We've been happily married for over 25 years now. I'll never forget Petra and will always love her. That doesn't diminish the love I have for my wife.

When I was in 11th grade I met a girl where I went on vacation. We hung out together a lot for most of the summer. I really did love her and I was too afraid to let her know even though everyone said that she had a thing for me too.
I went away to college and did not see her for almost two years. I went back to see her and we made plans to go out. I had a whole speech in my head that I was going to tell her how I felt. She blew me off and lied to me about having to stay at work. I knew she was lying because I went by where she worked to give her a ride home and they told me she wasn't there.
Obviously we did not end up together.

But, I'm currently with a partner that I love more than I could imagine and I KNOW they are the one.

NO, it screwed my head up, I left my home state. Went to college , married had 2 kids etc... I couldn't get a job I was from Michigan and it sucks there and has for some time. Now I live where people say howdy, and hey Bubba, and I reckon. LOL
