My husband loved with his parents til we got married. If I died or something he would move back in with them. No biggie.

Related to that, where he lives, as in where's his dating pool, and maybe even hers. For example, I'm in a relatively expensive neighborhood and most people here are successful or at least rich, so their lifestyles guide their standards. In my experience with a dating pool like this, it's indeed a dealbreaker.

@jhl_x for many yea it is but not all of them. Plus there is the fact that many people become successful later on and if he is at least working with the cost of living right now I think it's more understandable. People should not be dating for money. But I do understand personal standards.

That's part of my point. There are some aspects of dating that are acceptable for women but not for men, specifically regarding what's considered preferences. Living with parents is an example of it, as well as not having a career, house, car, or whatever, specially when getting older in the 20s. I'm from a shithole country, which was supposed to have a lower bar set for us to clear, but it doesn't happen. To make matters worse, I'm in my country's largest city and one of it's most expensive neighborhoods, even though I'm not rich and technically a loser. This sets a bubble much like one you'd see in a rich first-world city like NY, which makes it even worse.

I'm not saying it's an absolute rule, but my experience has shown me that it happens, and happens differently to men.
