How to regain trust after it's been broken?

My husband's ex girlfriend was trying to break us apart for few years after our marriage. He is a passive guy and I ended up giving him ultimatum to fully cut contract or I'm leaving.

He did block her and deleted her number but she is still trying to reach out which is showing as notifications. He never did anything to violate my trust but my heart is not in peace yet.

Will I really be able to trust him with time or time never really heals anything?

What has he done to give you a reason to distrust him?

Not really but I can't think why she is still trying to reach even after 5 years of marriage unless he is keeping the door opened somehow.

Is she just crazy?

Why are you blaming him for the things she is doing? Of course it's possible that he is encouraging her but you don't have any facts to think that's true; at this point, it's just a guess.

It's true. He never lied to me on anything but about cutting the contact during those years.

It shouldn’t have gotten to a point where you had to give him an ultimatum. Was there a reason why he was still contacting her in the first place? I get your stance. In order for her to try and rip something apart, he would have to entertain it

She was hoping thar he will marry her but she wasn't a good fit per his words and wouldn't accept the fact that he moved on and got married to me.

He might have stayed in contact out of guilt.

@asker I think you should sit down and sincerely ask. Him being passive doesn’t give him a right to disrespect you. He shouldn’t be giving room for this stuff to happen.

He is not doing anything now. It's only her but the problem is with trust that was broken

He may not be doing anything now, but it honestly should’ve been you expressing that it bothers you from the very beginning where he stopped contact. I don’t know your husband enough, but if he’s that passive to the point where he can’t tell someone to leave him alone, that can be a huge issue in on going years.
