You can’t say there is toxic masculinity while pretending there isn’t toxic femininity.

The so called “equal gender rights” theorists who invented and propagated this Marxist term believed it is an yet another indictment on men that would go unnoticed. Different story if feminists dared to be fair by using “toxic femininity” in their hate rhetoric. But of course it’s all a “war” to them so admitted any fault whatsoever is conceding to patriarchy.

Hummm... I think some men who are toxic, might be toxic in a "masculine" manner. But I've known toxic people in both genders of course. I've known men who were toxic and it wasn't necessarily linked to them being men. They were just toxic... LOL... One of the worst that I can think of was a former coworker. When he left the job to take another one, he was trashing the company to some of the company's customers. It was BS because I worked for that company for a long time and it wasn't a bad company. He was thinking that the business would fall apart when he left, and was frustrated when the business continued to be successful and even grew tremendously after he left. Then he tried to recruit employees from the business to work at his new job, hoping it would cripple us. Toxic dude.

There is no such thing "toxic masculinity" or "toxic femininity", only toxic behavior, and both men and women do it.

Calling it "toxic masculinity" is just another way feminists try to divide men and women, because dividing is what feminism is all about.

Seems the term "toxic" is just so overused that it seems to stand for whatever you feel is opposed to your behaviours.

Toxic masculinity does exist, and I work around it through the work week. But toxic femininity also exists. Difference is that people don't want to talk or think about it. Toxic femininity is not just something other women have to deal with, but it pollutes men's world as well, and it creates bad motherhood that negatively impacts kids too.

Men get shamed by other men for doing stuff that is considered womanly. During my undergrad years in physics. I cooked for a department feast mostly by myself with multiple cuisines. I cook better than in most high-end restaurants. Professors and other guy friends told me, I should quit and open one, physics isn't for me. Even though I was the smartest in the class. People tease me, and call me names for my cooking, my family is kinda conservative they see it as womanly too.

I don't like watching sports but am particularly good at swimming and soccer. I have more artistic hobbies like drawing, writing, and sewing and I get enough trolled for them from both men and women.

So toxic masculinity exists both men and women don't like people who wouldn't succumb to particularly defied social behaviors.

Masculinity in itself Is a social construct. The toxicity associated with it is an addendum to that construct. Toxic Masculinity only holds sway with those that are trying to inflict it and those willing to believe they have been affected by it.

Both? Toxicity and healthy are two sides of a spectrum for everything. Relationships, people, a job, a boss, etc. They all fall between toxic and healthy.

I never met a guy who genuinely wanted to be toxic or to bash on women or anyone else.

Toxic masculinity is a thing. It doesn't mean that masculinity is toxic, it doesn't mean that all toxic behavior is toxic or toxic behavior outside of the context of toxic masculinity does not exist. It means certain toxic behaviors are taught to men in the name of masculinity.
