Do you think "love conquers all"?

I learned this the hard way, so to me, nope!

A relationship has to have more than just love to survive! That's IF the love is even really there to begin with! And they're not just "loving" in a casual way! Or as someone on YouTube said: "Just Pretending"!

I agree, love doesn’t conquer all. Not just because people might not be fully into a relationship — they can throw everything they have into it, make it their obsession, find their joy in this person that’s come into their life and do everything possible to love them and make them happy — but because sometimes, and it’s no one’s fault, you’re just a bad match to have a life together. You can be passionately lost on the throes of romance, but that may not change the fact that your partner wants kids when you don’t, or can’t manage their money and neither can you and you’re both facing poverty, or might think marriage is a sham when that’s what you’ve been working for all this time. Or sometimes, it’s just because your personalities clash, you fight constantly, your disagreements wear you down, or they might not like the same things you do and not being able to share interests can hurt people sometimes. In all, love can push a couple through a lot of bad times, but it’s not a cure-all for every couple’s problems. Sometimes, no matter how much you might love someone, you just can’t be together in the way you both want.

sweetie, love does not equal happiness. It does not conquer everything and anything.

I have known plenty of spouses who are chronically LONELY in their marriages but refuse to divorce because they love their spouse too much.

I have known plenty of wives who tolerate their husband's cheating (even though he still loves her too much to leave her)

Love really does not guarantee anything.

To say that love conquers everything is purely NAIVE thinking.

I've seen stories of women (and men) who get together with a sex offender and have made it work. Some of the most low regarded people in society (and understandably so). Only a powerful love could keep that relationship alive.

I'm not saying you should go out and find one of these people... I'm saying that it's possible with a strong love to make it work. And after having seen that, if both parties are dedicated to being their best for the other and are madly in love... it does conquer all.

But people mistake attraction with love. I have. Love is being able to be as vulnerable as possible as well as willing to do anything for the other person (both people must do this). Love is more than just a feeling. A lot of people in our generation don't get that.

All relationships require work, but sometimes there are problems such as incompatibility that cannot be fixed, even with the best intentions. In reality, love cannot conquer all no matter how hard you try.

Conquering is the domain of hate, not love.

You never see warlords conquering neighboring countries because they love them.

Relationships are also not about conquering, but rather cooperating.

A lot of people think that if you love someone enough, you can put up with what you hate about them, but if you hate things about them, you don't actually love them.

Pretending is not love, so to discredit love just because someone in particular didn't love you, is illogical.

I agree with you; it does not. Love is kick ass powerful and it has amazing super powers that nothing else does, but love is also a prima donna on stage -- it needs a massive support system to work. Love can't conquer sexual incompatibility. Love can't conquer inability to communicate. Love can't conquer two people who don't like each other permanently or where there's nothing in common. There's a lot that love can't conquer.

BUT.

Love + Effort or Love + Desire to Do Better With [fill in the blank] ... those can conquer anything.

If love conquers all, then its counterpart, war, destroys all. Hence, at the end, +1-1=0. Nothing is conquered.😅

Do you agree? I mean, we are bound to be at war, if we are capable of love. Love, in my sense, does not conquer even a fraction of the world. Whatever that is left to conquer, is conquered by practicality.

Sometimes it doesn't. As is the case with Jadwiga (Hedwig), who was forced to see William of Austria - the love of her life - being banished from her country and forced to marry Grand Duke of Lithuania Jogaila instead.

There are countless of similar stories like these but essentially love alone is not enough if someone overpowers you.

It depends on your choice of love, but I seriously think that love can conquer everything. If you love someone, then your position is always firm, for me it is true.
The basis of love is firm choice, when you choose each other seriously and firmly, then it means that we should move forward together earnestly. Only in the end will we know how to cherish each other.
