My boyfriend said me and my friends are normies and he typically doesn't interact with normies?

Recently my first boyfriend of 8months said that he is not trying to sound like an elitist but I am a normie and he and his friends don't typically interact with normies. I felt being called a normie is an insult but I don't know if i am overreacting in this situation. What do you think you would have done if you were in my position?

I’m sorry your first boyfriend experience turned out that way. But keep in mind, a lot of peoples first relationships don’t go well. Take some time to mentally recover, work on yourself, and get back out there and find someone who will treat you with respect x

yes it hurt me so much. I am planning to break up with him because he also said that we don't have a future together. It is my first relationship and I am scared of taking a lot of time to get over him. I am scared of heartbreak that shit looks terrible
