Is there really someone out there for everybody?

I recently realized how lonely I am. It's been a little while since I've had a girlfriend. I was engaged once, almost got married, but she walked out on my wedding day. I locked myself in my house for days afterward. I dated a few more times after that, but now, I have a feeling I'm going to be alone the rest of my life.

When my English teacher taught Romeo and Juliet, he used to say there's someone out there for everybody. Do you think that's true? Or does loneliness eventually win?

I would say yes there is someone for everyone. The caveat being when you actively look for something, you can't find it. Or have a hard time finding it. When you don't look is when you find the thing you're looking for lol how funny is that? I think you should probably go to therapy and start working on yourself. The more you can bolster yourself into a whole human being, the more attractive you'll be. People can pick up on the subtle signs of desperation and neediness. And people typically want someone who can be okay by themselves. I'm not going to tell you the whole. You have to love yourself before you love someone else thing. I think you should be able to be tolerant of yourself and your faults before you can find another person that'll stick around. I've been in too official relationships. One lasted for 12 years and the other one just got started. The one I'm in now feels like the one I meant to be in. I met my guy online and he told me during the first conversation that he didn't want to relationship and nor did I at that point. As we began getting to know each other, we realized that we were super compatible. Eventually he pursued a relationship with me and we both been putting in the maximum amount of effort that we can into making it work. We are madly in love with one another. This one of the most satisfying connections that I have and I came across it entirely by accident. I have been going to therapy for years. I've been working on myself and my neediness so that I could leave my previous abusive relationship. I'm now able to have conversations I need to have and I've been able to avoid the honeymoon stage

No because horrible people exist. I am aware horrible people get married, have families, kids, and love all the time but that doesn’t mean that person was for them considering they are murdering and sucking the life out of vulnerable people, ruining them. The horrible person just got lucky and the abused person, very unlucky

Honestly I was just talking about it with my boss, he said what made him marry his wife (besides her punching a guy in the throat) was he looked at her for who she was, not what she looked like, I mean the dude could definitely have some smoking hot model type considering he’s 6’4. He literally talked about how before his wife he only dated 10s but realized he only dated them for their looks. His wife isn’t no model type but she’s cool as fuck which is better. He talked about how looks are really only skin deep. I think that’s what’s been causing so many problems with dating these days because we are only going for LOOKS, everything else comes second. I feel like Dating apps and social media are a huge part to play in this. We want the best we can get Physically then hope everything else come out nice like personality etc. But in reality we only hurt our selves because we let these attractive people get away with so much. Or we don’t get in relationships in the first place because we are “saving ourselves” for someone that doesn’t really exist. and everyone always says “well im not gonna change my preferences” or “I know what I like” or im not gonna date someone im not sexually attracted too” but in reality that thinking is the problem, society is to busy looking for a physical partner. Not a soulful partner.

Not everybody even wants a partner, but what does it matter?

You almost got married once so you know how relationships work. At the age of 41 it is usually easier than in your earlier years. If you want a child, there are lots of women around 35 who would want the same and who have "baby fever".

There is not only one woman out there for you, of course. It can work with lots of women. Just learn to love one of them and she can be "the one" for you. Many women find it attractive to be the only one for you for long or for the rest of your life

Man, I'm sorry to hear that. What a heartbreak. I wish we know what happened there, but there are reasons. When you understand what happened, it releases the negative energy of fear, and you are free again. There's ways of thinking about this that can set you free. For example... did she just save you from a lot of pain? You really have no idea how difficult a person she was going to be to deal with. Sadly in this case, if you were in a really good place, you could thank her for what time you had, and go on your way. But hearts attach as they do, takes time.

I think there is someone for you when you are ready and especially, when you are your best self able to give yourself.

Yes, although there's various factors at play. Sometimes you can meet the right person for you, but at the wrong time in your life or setting.

My last ex and I had amazing chemistry, as I could easily laugh about the dumbest shit with her, but we also thought the same on a lot of things. However, we would not had dated if we met at school, since I act generally more reserved in class, so that I can focus. Thankfully, we met on a blind double date instead - the setting was different and I was able to let loose.

People are much more diverse and unique and individualized than they were in previous generations. That's why it's harder to find a match. Also, the Battle of the Sexes is at peak warfare level. So you're going to be in confrontation on multiple issues, and even for no reason at all other than your very existence. It's a very unfavorable environment for love.

There may in fact be someone out there for you. But chances are, even if you do meet them, you aren't going to trust them. (And I say this being directed towards everyone, not just the question asker.)

No- because even tho we were made to find a mate and be fruitful.. things have changed. Some folks just wanna live their lives and be... alone. so not Everybody.

I'd say there is. And that being said, I for one find just as much fulfilment as being single but with close friends and family and lots of hobbies, interests and sports, keeps me grounded and sane. That's the bliss of single life. I also find I save far more money, for me, that I'm single. Hooray for single people ✌🏻💪🏻💪🏻☮️

Tbh I personally don't feel like everyone's gonna meet someone like that.
It depends on the person you are. I don't know that about you so I can't say whether you'd find someone or not.
But in general yeah some people do never find a stable long term relationship.

No that's a stupid thing people say to make people feel better. You're a man time to get over what happened in the past and focus on improving yourself. Reality is 20% of men get 90% of women if you're not in that 20% it's going to be almost impossible for you to find someone
