We shouldn’t feel so much that we know them so well enough not to try or believe they will always love us.
I think you can have two types of relationships:
1.] where they always know each other and know and trust in the love for each other and somehow just vibe confidently and vibrantly all throughout their life and span together
and then there’s:
2.] being slightly insecure in a relationship where the only reassurance and confidence that can be had is from when they receive that reminding and up-to-date reassurance from their partner. Partners should be the one to express to their other partner that they still love them and that they are both ‘still together.’ The jealousy due to this slight insecurity means it would be from a place of concern for the relationship and a reflection to better oneself.
(Not even sure if the second one Gould be lifelong. I think in a passionate relationship it can be helpful. I also idealize relationship number [1.] because it is more relaxed and probably filled with a higher percentage of good endorphins than the [2.] and needing frequent or not-so-frequent reminders).

It simple rant to add jealousy can usually be stemmed in the form of anger and be a sign of someone’s own feelings of not feeling good enough or qualified to be in a relationship with their partner, and would be comparing at times themselves to the person their partner spends time with or adores seemingly more than they. Jealousy isn’t rooted in love all the time (like 90% of the time). It’s a selfish based emotion. The need to affirm oneself and so it’s just not for the welfare of the other s. o.
It might seem nice, but it’s unhealthy if that emotions escalates or persists.

It is negative energy that only results in people putting up stronger defensive walls and pulling away (due to feeling unsafe). It's interesting how people can legitimize anything to prove their point, yet you'll never see a long-term positive result from insecurity and jealousy.

+1 yBeing jealous is okay so long as it doesn't result in controlling, or attempts to control, and it doesn't get out of hand.
It's good to think that our partner is a good one, and seeing other people who think that can inspire a bit of jealousy. But that can be healthy jealousy.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yJealousy is a complex emotion that can have both positive and negative effects on a relationship, depending on how it is expressed and managed.
On the one hand, a small amount of jealousy can be a sign of caring and attachment in a relationship. It can help to keep partners attentive to each other and prevent complacency or taking each other for granted. However, when jealousy becomes excessive or controlling, it can be toxic and damaging to a relationship.
Excessive jealousy can lead to feelings of distrust, insecurity, and resentment, and can cause partners to feel like they are constantly walking on eggshells or being monitored. This can create a negative and tense dynamic in the relationship, and can ultimately lead to the breakdown of trust and intimacy.
It's important to strike a balance between healthy concern and excessive jealousy in a relationship. Open communication, trust, and mutual respect are key to maintaining a healthy and fulfilling relationship, and can help to prevent jealousy from becoming a destructive force.10 Reply- 373 opinions shared on Relationships topic.
+1 yA bit of "jealousy" (or territorial as I would call it) is healthy. I would start to get concerned if a significant other would not feel any "jealousy" at all. That shows a lack of care from their end.
At the same time, if your partner gives you a reason to get "jealous", given you're not the one who is being overly sensitive, then that is on them and is a reflection of how they treat you in the relationship. A partner should respect their partner's boundaries. A relationship is all about giving and taking, after all.
If your partner makes you feel 'jealous' by doing things that make them look like they are single, then you have every reason to get "jealous".

+1 yIt's almost needed in small amounts but not the over possessive kind because that is the worst feeling ever having someone trying to keep tabs on you 24/7 and getting mad every time you scan the environment and they think you are checking out someone just because there just do happened to be a girl or guy, however that resonates for you. It's like you didn't even see them but they swear you were drooling, winking and blowing them kisses. But if you don't get a little jealous then they will seriously think you're not into them. At least girls will think that' way.

+1 yI don't really think about that emotion much, I think it goes with envy? I don't think so, but maybe it works for some,
Isn't something displacing love... bad? In other words, there's some "angst" in jealousy. Why is it good?
Maybe a little "spice" is good, but might be dangeous too.
10 Reply Jealousy shows interest in a person (as in, getting jealous if another man flirts or another woman flirts with your SO) However, that would be ideal in the initial stage of a relationship. Imagine if you've been together 10 years and your SO gets jealous when other way you too much attention. That's immature and strange to me. As a whole--jealousy may be a little proof of liking someone, but if taken too far, it may be detrimental to the relationship.

+1 yI like it, I find it adorable, of course that depends, there's a different between jealousy and being controlling, if she's jealous it's adorable cause it shows the girl wants you all to herself and shows a form of care but being controlling is completely different because she will start creating assumptions and act on it when it might not be true or exist
10 Reply4.6K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Yes , only if it isn’t to extreme , but having a little jealousy and being a little insecure is actually a good sign that your partner still cares about you and values you but if they are overly jealous and insecure usually that’s an indication that they are up to no good and don’t trust you at all , they are protecting their guilt on to you , it’s usually best to end that relationship if it comes to that

+1 yFuck no... especially if you're bringing it own because you just desire attention. If you're that girl bringing it on to get attention from both random guys and your man... I want to personally come in and slap you across the face as hard as I can. It will probably kill a random woman, but they'd deserve it.
It is stupid and un-needed attention.00 Reply
+1 yA little jealousy is good. If your partner is out with other women and she doesn’t mind it, there’s a problem. If it’s obsessive like he can’t ever have a conversation with any other woman without fully disclosing the exact detail and length of the conversation, then it’s also a problem.

+1 yThere is a difference between jealousy and toxic obsession. Jealousy is a real emotion and exploring the whys behind it are really important to understanding it.
10 ReplyUnpopular opinion but I think that protective jealousy is healthy in a relationship. Some may see it as toxic ownership but I think it's the way to show your partner you value them.

10 Reply4.2K opinions shared on Relationships topic. You can not be complacent without including jealousy. Jealousy in any amount is toxic.
You may be able to tolerate a nugget of poop in your salad, that doesn't mean it's a good thing.
00 Reply10.2K opinions shared on Relationships topic. No, it is never good. It just creates toxic situations.
10 Reply6.1K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Maybe just enough to be cute. To know you value one another. Anything beyond that isn't healthy.

10 ReplyAccording to a lot of the replies, let your partner do whatever they want. Don’t get jealous and walk away.

Then people might as well just remain single if that's the case. Why bother be in a relationship, in the first place, if you don't care what your partner does?
If I'm going to be in a relationship, I will most definitely care about what my partner does and whether she oversteps her boundaries. I date with a purpose, afterall.

+1 yI like it if they’re a bit territorial and overprotective. Thats basically the same as jealous but less bad sounding? Lmao
00 Reply I dont think so. I try my best not to in a way but my looks are not as good as other girls.
10 ReplySometimes a little jealousy makes things interesting…
20 ReplyWell, it only happens through lack of devotion. Which means, actual cheating.
If you like a bit of, it is probably because you'd like to be able to get a bit of undisclosed sex on the side, to lie about it, and to put up with the same.

+1 yWhile a little bit of jealousy is normal, overall jealousy exhibits a lack of trust and/or confidence and more than a little jealousy that's really brushed to the side is a red flag for sure
