Have a talk with her. Tell her she's just too young to be dating an adult. The cops probably won't do anything, unless a sexual act took place, and even then, everything is about having proof.

You probably want to handle this delicately because she may turn on her, and run off with him, not to scare you. She's at an age where she's confused and adding any additional weight may corrupt her.

You could also take her to a therapist. Maybe there's some reason why she's dating someone older, besides actually liking the guy. A therapist might be able to help her if she has a problem. I wish you the best of luck.

Confront him if possible and let him know you don't like that relationship and that you can call the cops on him because he's an adult dating a child. AND, confront her also, tell her her relationship is over, don't ask her to break up with him, YOU make them break up, she's 12, a little girl, wtf. No phone, no going out alone, no unsupervised social media under she's under control, simple. Don't let your kid rule their world, you must protect them even if they get mad at you and say they hate you, YOU make the rules and take decisions, not her.

You should probably sit her down and have a serious conversation with her to explain what grooming is and why it’s wrong. Make it clear that you don’t blame her, and that she’s not doing anything wrong; this is about her “boyfriend” taking advantage of her naivety. I would also cut off any communication between them immediately. Take her phone if you need to. I know this must be a very difficult situation. I hope your daughter will understand and not fight you on this.

Tell your 12 year old NO and end it. She should be in school and in some sort of after school sport or club 6 days a week (which can mean 2 of them), followed by homework, dinner, and bed. No time for boyfriends. Purge her phone for a month and he'll move on.

Really he could get in serious trouble for dating a minor, if the police knew about it. But if I was you, try and stop it yourself.

Depending on where you live the law could help you out if you decided to go that route.

I would speak to her boyfriend after checking age of consent laws in your jurisprudence. It is unlikely it is not a jail term so you could scare him off. Sex may not be happening but an 18M hanging out with a 12F shows weirdness in both.

Tell her why it's dangerous to date a guy that much older than her, at her age. If she still doesn't get it, ask her if she finds it appropriate if you were to date an 18-year-old. If she's weirded or grossed out by it, tell her that it looks the same for him to date someone much younger than him when he's 18.
