Why is she recharging my phone balance every month?

My ex’s mother and I don’t talk anymore, months ago I asked her to please, give me the space to be able to forget and let go of my past.

She has been asking how I am every now and then and that’s it.

When she heard I had a flu and high fevers, she sent me 500 USD and told me to take care of myself. I returned the money to her and reassured her I am fine and she doesn’t need to worry.

She asked me my phone number 3 months ago and I told her.

Since then my phone balance has always been recharging on every 30rd day of month. I was wondering who was doing that and I just figured out it has been her all along.

Why does she feel the urge to support me financially? I am independent, I have money. I feel bad that she is spending money on me, when I have enough on my own and his som and I aren’t together anymore.

She’s very sweet but I don’t want her to worry about me.

Sounds like she could be trying to leave an opening for you and her son to get back together. Or she might just like you as a person.

That's the thing that kinda sucks about generosity. You can never know if the person is genuinely doing it to help you or if they want to use the generosity to get you to owe them later on.

You said it yourself. You make your own money, you don’t need her unsolicited support. If you don’t want her in your life, you should return any money she might have given you that you don’t wish ti carry the obligation of repayment, whether it was gifted if not.

Is it possible she sees you like a daughter to her and this is why she is doing what she is.

She has a twins, my ex and his sister.

We were together for 3.5 years and he was my fiancé. So she was certain we would get married and got very upset when her son ended our relationship.
