What Kind of Relationship Is This?

I'm thinking about talking to my husband about opening our relationship a little bit... I'd like to be able and flirt and snuggle with other people, without really committing to the other person relationally. I like creating friendship. But I don't want sex or anything that feels too permanent. I'd be fine with him doing the same thing.

What kind of relationship would this be called?

It's something I'd want to at at least talk about. If he's not interested, I'll get over it. But it's something I'd like to discuss.

I like meeting new people is what is mostly pertains to. Specifically men, because I struggle with female relationships...

I do think u will have a hard case trying to explain that u want to be able to meet flirt and cuddle with new men whilst assuring him nothing sexual will happen tho

I mean, it requires trust. I am ridiculously transparent with him. I tell him when I have feelings for another person, or if I feel like someone is a threat to our relationship. I have dropped relationships for him of my own volition.

A crazy amount of trust yes also if how u want to open the marriage is not somthing he value just cuddling and flirting with new women he won't be gaining anything from this situation but I guess that can be worked out when u talk to him

It's really just an idea. I don't want it to be anything that costs our marriage. The way it started is, I made a new friend that I am interested in snuggling with. I kind of see them like a dad... So I'm interested in more platonic snuggling. I'm not really interested in sex with this person.

Which is fair enough but I guess its if u can convince him that and how he would take it that u are thinking about it I imagine u already know he would be intrested in that conversation over react poorly to hear it

I feel like if I tell him it goes both ways (he can talk to women more) he might be more open to it.

Tbh, I think he'd be less interested than me... But he does have female friends he could be a lot closer to.

We kind of had our relationship sealed up tight, and I don't think either of us really like it...

But what's the point of being able to get closer if all u can do is snuggle 😅 thats more so me asking nit what he will think

That's the thing: it's about novelty, not commitment. Sex makes things messy and committal. I don't want that. I literally just want to make some new guy friends I can have a chill, loose boundaries friendship with. And move on after a while

Fair enough I guess doing everything that leads upto sex but not the sex itself yeah speak to him and see what he think I dont understand it but it sounds like he is more open to things

I'm not even talking about doing "everything leading up to sex". I guess I just want more intimate friends?

But what is that intimate friends thats not somthing I have ever heard someone say or loose boundaries friends that don't have some conatation of sexual interaction if it was simply snuggling surly that's somthing u could get from your partner but I think that's what I dont get 😅
