What could it mean when a man says "we need to have an honest conversation about our relationship and if we see our future together?"?

Before saying that I should ask him I cannot currently ask him as if he is away and will only be back next week. This message is giving me anxiety. Some insight on what could it be would be helpful. We had a conflict before he left on a work trip.

It could be a number of things. Maybe he feels as though you haven’t been into him lately, less attention from you. Maybe you’re not having sex w him like you used to. Maybe he’s been falling apart from you because he met someone else, or he’s just falling out of love w you for a number of reasons. I don’t know what your relationship is like. Maybe you’re always on him, nagging him, which he more than likely doesn’t like and doesn’t want to be in that type of relationship the rest of his life. Maybe he’s starting to resent you for a number of things. It could be a lot of things, couldn’t say for sure exactly what.

Means he wants to discuss things that may or may not be of concern with him and you in order to have a real relationship. It's nothing to be anxious about. Think of it as part of having good communication. You may learn things that will give you a realistic idea of the relationship
