Am I sending the wrong signals if I join a guy on his trip to his hometown?

We are both stressed out and he mentioned he wanted to escape and travel like me. I think because he saw me traveling lol on my social media and also previous conversations i told him it's my way of escape.

He mentioned his hometown while chatting. We have a planned meetup and i thought why not go to his hometown instead so I asked him.

Then, he said do you like to go to the mountains instead? He then shared he would have wanted to improve his place for visitors but now he doesn't care. He can show it as it is.

I just realized what this means as I was actually just thinking of touring around in the place, not in his house.

am i overthinking things or sending the wrong signals?

Yo, I'd be kinda careful about going on a trip to this guy's hometown. Don't get me wrong, it could still be fun to get away for a weekend. But joining him at his place right away could give the wrong impression, you know?

Guys can sometimes think a girl coming to visit means more than it actually does. And if you just started talking and haven't hung out one-on-one yet, going away together is kinda intimate. He might start to think you're really into him or something when you're just looking to relax.

I'd say make it clear you just wanna see the sights and explore, not be up at his crib the whole time. Maybe get a hotel or Airbnb so you have your own space. And don't feel obligated to do anything romantic if you're not feeling it.

As long as you set boundaries and don't let him think it's more than it is, a short trip could be fun. But watch for signs he's getting the wrong idea and be ready to bail if he starts getting too comfortable. The last thing you need is weird drama if you're not on the same page. Just be upfront about what you want out of it - as long as you communicate, you should be good!

I was really just thinking i want to travel far and since he lives there so it'll be convenient for him. Then i did not think what that would mean at all

Here's what I would do - have an honest chat with the guy. Explain you were just looking for a travel buddy since he knows the area, but you don't want there to be any confusion about expectations. Reassure him your intentions are purely platonic.

Then suggest some alternative options like getting your own place to stay, so it's clearly just friends hanging out rather than a visit. Offer to split costs too so it's not like you're relying on him solely as a host.

To me, when you tell someone you want to travel to their hometown, that means you want to spend time with them and their family and friends. I would take that as a sign of deeper interest than just wanting to travel.

How long have you know this guy for? If so!!! For how many years?

It looks like he might think you are interested In him more than friends! If it’s just you and him and getting to know his family and home town.

my advice would be to be careful! set your boundaries and let him know. We are going but as friends , if you don’t say it he might think otherwise !!! Also If you don’t know him enough and you go to a place you don’t know anybody!!! I would let a family member know or a close friend!! Where you going and with who. For how long

you all ready know. a lot of crazy people. You never know them until you do.
