When you're single, why did/do you want to be in a relationship?

As a single person, why are you looking for a relationship? I'm wondering what your main reasoning is for wanting to be in something long term. No judgment. Just curiosity

About a month ago I would have said no way because I am still grieving the loss of my boyfriend that passed away suddenly 8 months ago.

But now I would reconsider a new relationship if it's meant to be.

I miss having affection from a man. Not just any man though cause I am not desperate. Not just sex either. The hugging and cuddling etc.

I miss having someone that has my back and I have his.

The companionship is worth giving it a try.

A relationship would be a good thing with the right guy. I am a good girlfriend and loyal to the end.

I didn't know what I wanted until I met my husband... and then the answer was... I wanted HIM. And I wanted a family with HIM. It all became very crystal clear. I was young when we got married...22... but now I'm looking back 10 years and 2 kids later and I couldn't have made a better choice for me.

I think the why that person changes or evolves as we grow and mature , sometimes the person grows and matures with you sometimes not. For me , knowing I’d found that someone was about being understood, supported and loved but also that I’d found someone that made me better , because I wanted to be for them and because they stood beside me in wanting what I did. Of course , it took time to learn that this woman was both who I wanted and needed as it takes time to be shown it and to see it and understand it.

Because I met someone that wanted me the same way I wanted her , we both were attracted to each other and we both had great chemistry and connection with each other , we both didn’t want to be lonely anymore , and we both wanted to experience true love. I don’t get into relationships to be single , but sadly a lot of people tend to these days

I've always wanted a partner to settle with. I want to find someone that is compatible with me (similar interests, views, sense of humor, goals in life, communication style, sexual compatibility, etc.)

It's nice to know you have someone that will always be with you. Someone you know you can trust fully with all your thoughts, secrets, fears, desires, happiness... everything.

I personally never look for one, it comes to me. But when I am single, I see movies and Ttv shows portraying what I long for (realistically though). When I see all of the things I want such as kissing, hugging and cuddling then I know im ready for a relationship, especially with someone my type and trustworthy. All of that may sound dumb, but seeing it happen to someone else makes me realize I miss it and want it too, but with my very own person.

To be honest, I don't know why. I guess back then it was because I was told to find someone or else id end up lonely and being lonely is apparently a bad thing but over time I learned that being alone isn't the same as being lonely. Also, unlike most men I don't need sex and I don't like the idea of marriage it just isn't something meant for me. I'm still attracted to women, women just aren't worth the effort.

Nothing compares to the level of intimacy and companionship. Nothing enhances life as much as sharing it with someone you truly love. And of course great sex on a level you can't get without all the former things I mentioned.
