How long before you knew your partner was the one?

I'm 28F and have been with my boyfriend M27 for a little over a year. And I don't know how. i feel about the relationship. I mean obviously I like him. But I cannot tell if we are actually not a fit or if my old (past) relationship traumas are rearing their heads and making me want to reject him. In the past where I've been more excited in relationships, it usually was a very emotionally tolling, toxic situation. I have a lot of issues with commitment and trusting another person that deeply. I just wish it felt easier than this. How long before you knew your partner was the one?

"The One" took some time. "Possibly The One" took about a week. I was wrong the first time I felt it (which we can chalk up to youthful inexperience) and right the second time (but alas, it was unrequited love, so arguably that was NOT "The One"). Your "ONE" will have the same commitment to you as you have to them -- twin souls sharing that terrific combination of infatuation, appreciation and curiosity that leads you to wanting more... to knowing more... to discovering more... for the rest of your lives. It doesn't happen too often for most people, which is why all the short-term nonsensical stuff exists. Folks need to be more patient and wait for "The One" if that's seriously what they want out of life.

Not really a set time limit , it just comes down to whether you can see your life with or without that person by your side , if you feel you will be ok without him by your side , than that’s your answer to let him go , if you no longer have passion for him , it’s best to move on and focus on yourself and figure yourself out , when the right person comes along , you will know.

I'm not sure about "the one" but if you aren't fully invested after a year I don't think he is "the one" for you. For me the first year is full infatuation phase then the second year is when I start thinking and asking myself, do I really love this guy? do I want to be stuck with him for the rest of my life?
