Trending & News There are lots of negative societal factors playing into this (social media, digitization, porn, cost of living, infidelity, etc). But I have no doubt it my mind the modern feminism is the original sin and number one cause of this downward trend in marriage and motherhood.
Women are being raised in an environment where they are not only taught they don’t need a man but being a mother is “slavery” and committed to a man in marriage is “patriarchy”. They are being told to indulge their immediate short term impulses as “their truth” as POS Oprah once put it.
But I truly believe the only way this will ever be reversed is when voluntarily unmarried/single women finally realize that their own decisions have ultimately made them very unhappy. And it might take an entire generation to finally figure this out which is not only sad but horrifying. It’s destroying our society. But modern women are hellbent on defying anything that is “traditional”. Sometimes I wonder if men should just start saying “oh stay single, sleep around, never have kids or get married” to modern women as a reverse psychology trick. They believe that every criticism we throw at them is self-serving and it’s not.
It is a broken model because marriage is nominally for life but certainly isn't. The costs are too great for a short term association of 8 years (median length of marriage). There is big blip up when kids get to primary school age. Another blip up when the kids leave home at about 20 years.
Only about 1/3 of marriages make it to 30 years plus and look like to death do us part. But 30 years + puts those more into the grand parent category when there was a significantly different attitude to marriage. They are now a statistical anomaly that will wash through.
We are in the age of the starter husband now (google).
Some suggest ending no fault divorce but it is easy to force divorce by cheating. It would require draconian penalties for cheating as well. But the the non custodial parent is always going to be hurt badly by child support.
So I see no marriage/no children as the golden rule and even if women stopped unilaterally initiating today it is going to take a long time for 'don't marry' sentiment to wash out. If ever.
It doesn't need to be corrected. We are just evolving and really don't need to be paired up to survive like we did in the past. It's more of a choice if we are wanting to spend our lives with a partner. Which is a good thing
I ain't gonna type a well thought out response, instead I will answer with the title of a song I like -if this link won't work again I will get mad-
Diving into the love pool, aren't we? 🏊♂️💘 The twist and turns in the dating and marriage rates saga have got everyone on the edge of their seats! But guess what? Absolutely, we can steer this ship back to the land of love and commitment. It's all about understanding the currents. 🌊
Let's sprinkle some spice here: communication is the aphrodisiac we've been missing. With the world going digital, we've gotta get back to the basics of heart-to-heart connections. And hey, let's not forget the power of self-love and personal growth. When we're the best versions of ourselves, we attract the best, right?
Education on understanding love languages, red flags, and the importance of commitment could be our secret sauce. Workshops, seminars, or even TikTok videos - let's get the word out there!
At the end of the day, it's about creating spaces where people can be vulnerable, authentic, and ready to ride the rollercoaster of love together. So, yes, the downturn is correctable, and it's going to be a fun fix! 🎢💑

Why does it need to be corrected? If people are waiting later to get married, there should be fewer divorces.
Worse economic conditions in future decades might do it
I don't feel like it will be correctable in the short term. Religion has been mostly dismantled in the west. And to reverse this trend you'd have to bring back some kind of rules to dating that restrict people from doing whatever they want. And that won't be popular. Yes some people might change their minds about sexual freedom if they see that it's causing more harm than good but these individual decisions won't change much on a societal scale. You'd need to have a serious initiative some sort of campaign to push against promiscuity maybe even laws I don't know. But I think it would be hard to convince people of that so I think things will keep getting worse and then there will be some attempts to reverse it but they will be half measures and failed attempts and then nothing much will change. It will stabilize at some point.
A small part of the population will manage to be self aware and smart enough to chose a partner that is good for them. Most will make bad decisions and have bad outcomes. I don't know how you could sell the more traditional dating without the religion and how this would look it seems very difficult to me. Especially young people trying to sell them old morality won't work. And they won't see the negative effects of their dating choices until they're older and then it'll be too late.
It is, but it takes people getting rid of these stupid, mind game, manipulation bs; treating people like garbage due to rejection, abusing the dating norms of men by expecting them to be mandatory, going after each other mainly for sex, having unrealistic expectations, getting rid of the mindset that relationships are about what you can get out of them, stop jumping into a relationship with randos, just because the sex was good; start actually treating people as people with emotions, interests, & vulnerabilities; start actually conversating, instead of acting like angry monkeys, just yelling, throwing, and hitting; and start realizing relationships should be like best friends with romantic benefits.
Relationships take time, effort, inconvenience, time management, compromise, trust, acceptance, teamwork, self-improvement, self-reflection, & loyalty, to actually get to know eachother.
Not some love at first sight, suddenly zing, happily ever after BS, you see in movies, shows, and romance novels.
This is a problem that WILL be fixed one way or another. Either we abandon Feminism, which specifically set out to destroy marriage and traditional relationships (I can give you many direct quotes from Feminist leaders), or the population of young men (the people who fight in wars) will fall enough in another generation that the West (Europe first) will be invaded and won't be able to fight back, and a far harsher regime will be imposed.
Ask Iranians who were at least teens in 1979 how that works.
1 Social economics. Basically we need more then to just financially get by but to actually have fun and meet people.
2. We need places to have fun at. We are losing "third places" first places is home second is work or school. Third places are social gathering places where to find friends and potentially love. While I'm a socialist that's going to say some extreme things soon. A better social gathering can push future technology faster then we are struggling today.
So follow burnie Sanders more money for the average person paycheck amd only working 4 be the new work week.
The robot machine are already making losing work and the advancement of AI is going to make it worse.
Frankly given how we are all responsible for the maintenance of our civilization and family.
Those who refuse to contribute biologically in having & raising children (the next generation) should be forced to pay thou the nose for the rest of their life to support those who carry the weight of human civilization in their stead.
If biological freeloading were acceptable you would not be here none of us would. We have invented the technical means to control this for the first time and proven since we lack the wisdom or responsibility for that power to the destruction of our families and civilization.
The solution is simple, the red pill is not misogyny, it tells about the feminine nature of women and the masculine nature of men, the real feminism is manogyny, they say that the patriarchal system is bad, but the patriarchal system raises very valuable philosophers and engineers, at the same time, they lie and manipulate when they do not come to their jobs, such as no, we don't need men, masculinity is bad, and then when they don't come to their jobs, they continue to manipulate because men and women are equal and feminism is equality. Such women want privilege, not equality, and all governments, including the Middle East, should pass new laws and force women to serve in the military and mine, feminism is a lie put forward to control the world's population.
Yes, it could easily be corrected, here's how:
Many places have "No-Fault" divorce. In those places eliminate "no-fault" or make it so the person who files for "no-fault" forfeits claim to alimony and marital assets. Allow for at-fault divorces for abuse and infidelity. Some more tweaks can be made, but under a system where a cheater can take half of everything and get paid after the divorce, many, many people will conclude that the risk is not worth it.
No, because men generally are done with being expected to fulfill traditional husband roles while women have abandoned theirs.
In both cases, it's their right and choice to do so, but men still want traditional nuclear families. In these cases they will find women that want the same but that also leaves out a huge portion of dating age women that do want or fit that role without committed partners.
If we stop social media, reduce the dating apps.
Force people to take to eachother more.
Basically reducing the options for all people it might change.
And we need to remove double standards,
Beauty standards on the camera and off camera as well.
It's the only way you could make a dent.
When it comes to love women have much it easier.
But after marriage it's difficult increases by 100%.
Where as it's opposite for men, but the responsibilities goes up by a significant number.
This is a naive assumption and view.
Please do your own research.
My perspective if we just arrange dates for singles. It should be able to help.
But having concent for doing something like that is never granted.
It is correctable. But society needs to change. Men and women need to change and stop going out of thier way to destroy eachother. And since that is not likely to happen anytime soon, you should probably just live your life and put any thought of this to the back of your mind.
You can cherry-pick any stats you like, it doesn't make them accurate.
ociety as a whole would have to stop being crappy parents and start teaching their kids not to be promiscuous.
it will correct once we start improving the economy and start promoting family values with a positve male and female role instead of promoting rare outlier sexualities and mental pathologies and extremist opinions.
impossible because they will always annul prenup agreements for stupid unfair reasons
No. Not as long as men are horribly abused in "Family Court". The divorce laws need to be fundamentally changed before men will even consider getting married.
It is not correctable but eventually women may get tired of actually having to support themselves and being accountable in general.
No. The heathens are self destructive. Almost impossible to live with.
Yes, lower the cost of living and marriage rates will go up
Well when people can't afford food what makes you think they can afford children.
Not until they make it appealing
Sure if people stop being complete idiots.
I'm single and have always been. Enough said :P
Young people can’t afford anything no hope
Interact in person and not on social media.
No. Because it’s by choice now.
Good?
@JakeShepard95 people having choice? Yeah. To far right evangelists? No.
