Girls, would it be weird to cheer a woman up by doing kind things which usually a boyfriend would do?

I had this song think back of whenever a woman seemed unhappy with her partner, and as a friend I told myself I should cheer her up, which I did in one case. Weird enough that in 15 years of knowing her, he had gifted his meanwhile ex-girlfriend flowers for Valentine's day for the very first time. Since it was supposed to be the first time in her life, I had planned to gift her flowers as well, which ended up in her being gifted flowers by two men on Valentine's day.

Umm. I would be really careful about that. If you really don’t have any romantic intentions with this girl, don’t do things that could be interpreted as a romantic gesture. Just don’t. Meet her out somewhere for coffee or ice cream and lend an ear to listen to her. Then give her a friend hug and say goodbye.
