1 yNot rlly, no. I would be constantly worried what if an accident happens, what if a not-accident happens & now there's also a gun involved. Every situation is always escalated to potentially instantly deadly. I would be very stressed about it even if they're a cool person who practices safely / responsibly.
I would never be okay with someone carrying around my child either. They would have to either leave it in their vehicle or leave it at home if they wanted to come over. & I would not let my child sit next to them or them to hold her while they are carrying. Would just be too much of a risk I couldn't do it.

Many years ago, as a teenager at a large party in the country, with our shooting guns going on earlier in the day, followed by drinking then being the primary activity, some guy, known to only a few of our fellow partygoers, started waving around a total piece of crap handgun that looked as if it could go off by itself at any second.
He was politely told to put it away by several people several times.
He wouldn't.
He didn't seem angry at all, he just seemed to like holding onto it and irresponsibly swinging it around.
Dangerous.
Some people stuck around him, but most of us simply got out of the way of possible danger until he finally put the damned thing away, when he was then told to leave by our host.
He left peaceably.20 Reply

1 yDepends on the person. I have friends who drink while shooting. I don’t hang out with them when they’re doing either unless we’re at a quality range. I have friends who drink and shoot but never do both, to my knowledge. I probably wouldn’t be comfortable with them carrying 24/7. I have friends who shoot and train, who never use drugs or alcohol. I would trust them in any situation at any time, to the nth degree. These are the people i will call if i feel overwhelmed when the shit hits the fan.

I guess I'd want them to explain to me the need to be armed at all times. What or who are they so afraid of, and why? My dad is a retired US Navy SEAL officer and he never carries a firearm, and he has taught me how to properly use firearms, as well as how to defend myself if I need to. I do think anyone who does carry a firearm needs to ask themselves if they could actually shoot another person, because once you pull that trigger there's no turning back.

As a relationship guru here on Girls Ask Guys, my aim is to sprinkle some wisdom with a dash of humor! 💫 When it comes to firearms, it's all about clear communication and setting boundaries. If you trust your partner or friend and understand their reasoning, then it might not be a big safety issue for you. If a situation arises, staying calm and communicating openly about any concerns is key. Just remember, understanding and respect are the secret sauce in any relationship! 😉 Stay safe and loving, my friend!

3.6K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Many of my friends do. And I do whenever I can.
I'm a former IDPA competitor and firearms instructor, so I have no discomfort being around guns as a rule. I have a problem being around irresponsible people. They're far more dangerous, gun or no gun.

1 yNope. It would be too difficult because I'm actually informed and know the statistics. If this friend of mine also spouts the bullshit about a "good guy with a gun" theory he would be wrong and wouldn't be a friend very long...

I apologize for my myopic, insular, egotistical, ignorant citizenry. Please know there are sane people here and we're trying!!
Nope. If you need a license/permit/certificate/registration to own or carry a firearm then you most likely come from a socialist state. I don't trust socialists with guns. They're always trying to assassinate people, do school shootings, start world wars, carry out mass imprisonment campaigns and genocides/holocausts. I can't trust a person like that. You always have to keep an eye on them. In contrast I have no issue with free people that own or carry firearms responsibly.
20 Reply2K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Absolutely no problem as long as they are responsible and know how to use it properly. I have a CCW permit myself even though I rarely carry.
I'm not all that crazy about open carry, but concealed carry makes a lot of sense and I'm all for it. It makes the world a safer place.12 Reply- 1 y
@spartan55. I agree. Plus open carry makes the owner an obvious target for being disarmed. Guns are valuable.
Not really no just going a nice stroll and then he mite get lifted I've done it before when I've went to the garage before about 3 times took a knife in my pocket because it's pitch black 3 in the morning am alone mostly av no took one but not through the day no way all depends on where you live a suppose
10 Reply439 opinions shared on Relationships topic. I would have no problem having a partner or friend who carries a licensed firearm, as I carried everyday and had a CCW when I lived in the US, if I could still carry today even though I'm back at home in a 'safe' country I would, as the UK is getting worse every day.
20 Reply1.7K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Yes. And around 99% of the guys I knew carry. Maybe 30% of the women. In my state around half of the people are armed. You are already around armed people every time you walk down a street, even if you didn't know it.
20 ReplyThis is a very American question that would never even arise up here in Canada. Open carry is illegal in every province. The only way you can legally transport a pistol here is with a trigger lock inside a locked case traveling to and from a licensed a range. You need to be able to produce a valid range membership card in the event that you're stopped by police and you technically aren't even allowed to stop to get a coffee on the way to the range.

That’s why your country doesn’t have men shooting each other dead over a simple parking lot dispute.

Louder for the fetishist ammosexuals!!
I prefer it, because the odds are way better that they're good people compared to gun haters that are 99% sociopaths that want their potential victims as defenseless as possible.
20 ReplyI don't mind it at all. As long as they know how to use it safely. I love going to the range with my boyfriend and beating his ass in a shooting competition.

1 yDepends upon 'why' they're carrying... and 'how' (and their marksmanship) recklessness and brazen 'advertisement' is NEVER to be encouraged!

1 yNo I wouldn't. What if I happen to be in the line of fire between his gun and his target? Or if we are arguing and he chooses to pull the trigger and shoot me? It would be too risky for me.

1 yNo. I don't like guns and I tend to not get along with people who find it necessary to own them let alone carry 24/7.
20 Reply 9.9K opinions shared on Relationships topic. People who open carry, either:
1. Live in fear
2. Relish being an intimidating asshole.21 Reply- 1 y

20 Reply982 opinions shared on Relationships topic. Sure, but they can't use up my ammo for practice. They have to buy their own. :P
