Why do you think lesbian couples have the most cases of reported domestic violence?

Gay male couples have the least amount and heterosexual couples have the second most. Some people I've talked to said it's because hetero couples are less likely to report it and gay men might be less likely to report it due to embarrassment and problems in might create in their personal lives. Keep in mind, this study does have some credence to it but doesn't delve into all avenues. For those that have same sex relationships, please, let us here from you!

I think there is a lot of truth to what people you have talked to said. Being a gay man is still not fully accepted by A LOT of people and exposing it could definitely cause problems, mainly at work and within outside social circles. In a heterosexual relationship, either partner might be hesitant to report it for different but similar reasons as gay men. Men being embarrassed that they're abused by their wife/girlfriend, women choosing to protect their husband/boyfriend from backlash at their job or within the community and of course, women fearing more physical violence. Lesbian couples probably don't fear reporting it as much, because it's more socially accepted and women are less likely to become violent in the case of being reported by a partner. Of course that's my opinion. I speak from some experience, because I have a gay brother. I know the heartbreak my family went through when he came clean and I know the burden he's carried and also the embarrassment he's faced from being in abusive relationships. I also work with a lesbian woman and have a lesbian cousin, I truly believe, neither face the social stigma as a gay man does.

Women usually resort to mental abuse, using their kids as weapons, making false accusations, etc because they aren't as capable of violence as men. It's easier for women to physically abuse other women so we see that happening more in lesbian relationships.

It's possible. It's just kind of difficult to answer because we know a lot of people don't report it.
But one thing it definitely proves is that women aren't above being violent when given the opportunity.

Men are taught from a very young age to control their anger and never use their fist, unless they're protecting a loved one.

Women, on the other hand, are taught to use whatever they can to their advantage.

When you have strength, you're taught to control it. When you're weak, you have no discipline.

In other words, the more women involved in a relationship, the more likely it will end in divorce, and the more likely a woman will be the victim of domestic abuse.
