Trusting to not cheat, to love, trusting them to just be themselves. Is it all ultimately boring or what? Is being controlling and dominating the actual spice for relationships to not fall apart?

It's definitely an awesome feeling to have peace of mind and no reason to feel as though you have to worry about being disappointed for once in your relationship. The feeling is unmatched and everything feels like it's going to finally, for the first time, and in a long time, be okay. Then after a couple of years of comfortability in your marriage or relationship with your significant other, you get blindsided with the news that she cheated on you. The years of trust once built, gone... All the feelings of disappointment and uncertainty come flooding back in like a tsunami. Followed soon after by the insecurities and you start to look for faults in yourself and whether it could have been prevented. Did she ever truly love you unconditionally as she claimed, where did the infidelity take place? The kids... where were my children when this selfish act and violation of trust took place? In my home, around my children, with no knowledge of his potentially being a threat to her or my children... The feelings of disappointment and uncertainty are immediately replaced with a rage that can't even be described. The most vile and disturbing mental images flash through my mind. It seems only natural to fantasize about the twisted demented things I could do when I get to his place. I find myself thinking about it and running different scenarios and ideas through my head when I realize that I need to be smart about my next move so as not to land myself in a situation I will be tied to or can't get myself out of. It was only as I begin rationalizing with my demons on this realization that i need to be smart with my next decision, that I realized I had been driving the entire time as though on auto pilot and more than halfway to his residence. Luckily for me I was able to resist the urge to continue the trip and found a place to pull over for the night. Alone with my thoughts and the music playing from the car speakers, my adrenaline slowly gave out and I fell asleep. Long story short, yes. It was an immediately a turn off and I will never trust the same again the way I did before.
