Time and appreciation as well as an attempt at sharing the same hobbies in spite of not enjoying them.
An example. I played rugby for the last 18 years and my girlfriend/wife has seen me play less than 1 whole game even though I've played in national finals and played up against teams higher divisions than mine. Golf I have played since long before we met. Her only time trying was at a shopping mall indoor driving range for 30 minutes. Now I play padel and apart from the first time WE went as a pair, she's seen me play only 10 minutes while waiting for me to take her home.
While her activities are cycling, volleyball and beach volleyball. I've been to watch her races, support her in events, taken part in events with her, even took up MTB because she wanted to learn it and I was ok at it. Also been on training camps with her to share the driving load to get there and have some "quality time" together.

It's been one sided af as from my perspective but the excuse is she doesn't like those sports or the way I play (too aggressive and I may get hurt). A choice of accept or quit.

Quality time is number one for me. As long as I get quality time with loved ones, sharing thoughts, experiencing things together, and just bonding overall, I'm a happy camper.

After that, words of affirmation followed closely by physical touch.

Acts of service is a bonus.

And gifts are unneeded.
