My fiancee and I have been together for six months. We've been living in my car for the past four months because she was caring for her grandfather, but now that he's in a memory care facility, we moved to my city. We’ve been staying with a female friend of mine, and recently, my fiancée became upset, saying she feels like she's watching me build a life with another woman. She feels like I’m getting too close to my friend because I’ve been helping her with various things, like moving furniture and watching her son.
I’ve been paying my friend for letting us stay, but my fiancée is jealous and suspicious of my friend’s intentions. She feels like I’m putting myself in a situation where my feelings for my friend could turn romantic, and she’s worried that I might choose my friend over her. She’s unhappy because she hasn't been able to do the same things for me, like cooking for me, and she fears I’m becoming complacent and might decide to stay with my friend instead of finding our own place. She said if I do that, she’ll leave.
I want my fiancée to stay with me, but I’m not sure how to resolve this situation. She’s unhappy, and I don’t want her to go back to her city where she has no support. I don’t know how to make her feel secure in our relationship while also helping my friend.
