If you were to go on a St. Valentines Date, who decides where you go? I would suggest somewhere but it would be open to discussion.
What have you decided on in the past?

The most I celebrated it is when the kids were little. I didn't pay much attention to it as a kid myself except for one or two times that some random teacher made a big deal out of it. My mom was my first "Valentime" and got this terrible cutout heart with a doily boarder from me that she kept till the end of her days... I just found it a few months ago, which made me laugh be she preserved it so well. Typical mom...

I think I'd go along with the females option, if she didn't like my choice. But I usually ask if there's somewhere she would like to go to first.

My wife and I have never celebrated Valentines day. It's a grift to make money from people for a made up holiday. You should show that love and affection year around. If you want to, buy small gifts for them on a random Tuesday in July for all I care. The day itself means nothing.

If you want some really good food and service, go out the night before Valentine's Day, they have a special menu ready to go, all the food is super fresh, you can get very large portions and doggy bags, and you'll have the restaurant to yourself, rather than on Valentine's Day itself where you're waiting for hours for your table and then waiting for hours for your waitress because 5,000 people all go out to dinner at the same time.
