Why would I be angry for a man expressing his feelings? That makes no sense.

In the scenario you've provided, with a parent dying/fading, that's particularly painful and disorienting for a child to go through, regardless of how old they are. It's very understandable that you'd feel desolate, frustrated, upset, etc.

A good girlfriend/wife/SO would try to offer comfort and solace (and space to grieve if that's what her guy needs).

Angry? Not at all. I would try to comfort him and cheer him up. It's great when a son looks after his mother and is worried when she's not feeling well.
