If you could erase one emotion from human experience forever, what would it be and why?

I would have to keep all of mine. Because with out all of them i might not ever learn how to over come it. It's all of our goals. To over come it all.
I was talking with a friend the other day we are car guys and sure we love certain types of cars but a real car guy loves all cars
He says that that like saying I only like that person or that person nope not that person
I said nothing to do with like it's love a true car guy loves all cars.
And I said it's the same with people once you love yourself you love everyone.
In order to do this you need to understand the opposite of love we live in a Duel purpose world. Love hate right wrong yes no god Devil. Positive negative failure success. You cannot sexy without failure You cannot understand one of them without understanding the other one
No matter what it is that we go through we have to understand the other side
I answered another one of your questions.
And I put a pretend scenario into it.
Maybe it wasn't Pretend
Because I know once you go through what you are going through And you understand both sides of it. You are going to be at you best with everything you do
And I guarantee you're just gonna be no stopping you the guy that walked away is going to be so sad Because you're going to have it all you already. Do you just don't know it Because you're still trying to figure it out but I guarantee it. Oh my god someone is going to be one happy lucky person like you said Is an experience that's all it is. You have to experience it to understand it to become greater than it. And you're getting closer and closer
The pain that you feel today will be nothing but love on the other side of today
I take a step back and look at you, and I see a great person
And I know that you hadn't come out of the womb that way the only way you have gotten to the place you are today is because every time you have fallen you have Rejected it and got back up and keep going forward And you will never stop.
Doing that because that's who you are. So without going through every emotion, you couldn't be that person.
That you are today, so I would smile because there is no stop in you. This is just a moment in time In this moment we'll pass and a new moment will start
Wow. This might be genuinely the best question I've seen all year in general across all platforms. It's so simple and yet really gets you thinking.
But for me personally, since I have severe anger problems that can literally turn dangerous, violent, and life threatening when during one of my severe delusional schizoaffective manic episodes, easily anger. Anger during those episodes almost ruined my life. It for sure pushed literally everyone I used to know away, even acquaintances/friends I had known since like kindergarten.
Now they not only want nothing to do with me, but also actively hate me, never wanna see me again, and wish I would be dead. Their own words, not mine. And I also caused thousands of dollars in property damage.
Besides anger, these next ones are not necessarily traditional emotions but depression and anxiety. Depression literally almost led me to suicide. And anxiety has given me several severe panic attacks, including in public.
But I'd say the anger is much worse overall because with depression and anxiety at least it was mainly just a me problem. But the anger was a problem for everyone around me as well. So depression and anxiety was my own personal hell. But with the anger I began to drag everyone else into my personal hell as well.
I like to think that these days I've gotten better in comparison at least. But yeah.
Thanks, and no problem, haha.
I think I am better now, though I'm not 100% sure if I'm better, as I tend to not be very self-aware about the present, only once it has passed, but at the very least I haven't gotten into any major confrontations with people over my anger problems for about over a year. Haha.
Hmm. They're all there for a reason. Perhaps panic, though. Fear is ok to have, but panic causes a person to freeze, make snap judgements, etc.
@exitseven I mean... to the degree that I have to address fear, panic and residual actions (e. g., procrastination, hyperactivity, etc.) with some clients it registers to them as an emotional response to things rather than an action.
H-A-T-E !!!
Sadness. I went through months of it and was almost to the point I wanted to unalive myself. It's the worst emotion in my opinion.
Oh I'm good now. I'm super happy right now!
@Simslover92 thanks for sharing, i experienced sadness as well, its an awful feeling
Aiming to keep love and connections smooth and groovy! 😎 If I could hit delete on one emotion, it’d be jealousy. That green-eyed monster can turn the sweetest loveboat into a Titanic disaster, don’t you think? We’re all about trust and open hearts here, not those shady vibes. So, let’s boot jealousy to the curb and make room for healthier, happier connections! 💌
Good start, um, a. i., there. Gets ya wondering what the psychological benefit of jealousy is.

Greed. There is enough for, water and medicine to help every single person in dyer need. The only reason anybody is poor, is greed. Nobody steals, nobody kills for gain.
Nobody steps on somebody else's back to gain an advantageous position. If we eliminated greed, we can redistribute wealth. Much of the injustice and pain in the world is because of human greed.
It's what keeps people from being able to work together to actually solve humanities bigger problems.
What would motivate someone to MAKE medicunes?
@strateguy632 Well you are correct about the greed motivation for capitalist innovation would disappear. I think that there are non-greed reasons for people to continue to make medicines. I think a lot of people altruistic nature is smothered by the greed in their nature. I think that's especially true when you look at the motivations for marketplace innovation. The incentive structure for making/creating would indeed have to be completely re-worked.
I am not saying I have all this worked out. You would have to restructure things to not rely on greed as the motivating factor. I think that greed-motive (and a structure that rewards it) often overshadows and obscures people's better nature.
Anger because it could lead to resentment by either person.
None, each emotion plays an essential role in both our biological evolution but in how we perceive the world. Everyone is so quick to talk about the negatives of anger, sadness, and fear that a lot of people don’t learn the positive sides to them. The purpose of fear isn’t just to make challenges difficult, it’s to let you know that what you’re doing carries consequences and it can hurt you if things go wrong, fear is there to protect you. Anger happens when you’ve already been hurt, anger fuels our sense of justice and being able to stand up for ourselves. Sadness also happens when you’ve already been hurt, it’s a necessary release of that pain that’s been sitting inside you for so long, it’s also the link to our capability to show compassion and empathy for our fellow human beings. All emotions, despite how awful they might feel in the moment, are good for you.
Jesus taught not to get angry but atheists, " play games with definition" as if injustices justify anger... see how they cause anger. You can't be a good person without the new testament.
Jesus said, "I tell you that ANYONE who is angry will be subject to judgment. [and] will be in danger of the fire of hell." ANYONE.
@strateguy632 He's saying real goodness comes from Jesus' teachings. Without them, people redefine good and evil to suit themselves and that creates more anger and injustice, not less.
ops.. @rybukakes
I was going to with greed... but that might not be a feeling per se, so... I am going to go with Envy, we don't need none of that... lol
and we would all be definitely better without it too
selfishness is the root of most evils...
If I had the chance to completely erase an emotion, it would probably be "fear". Because although fear generally provides us with a protective function, it often unnecessarily limits our lives and prevents us from taking advantage of good opportunities. But we should not forget that without fear, courage can lose its meaning. In other words, it might be more logical to think about grinding it down a bit before erasing it.
Anger, there is definitely too much of it right now. Although like others pointed out, no anger could be problematic too, because you need it as a tool to tell you that something is wrong. But then again, I feel like most problems in the world are caused by it, so if you remove it then there wouldn't be as much stuff to be angry about.
Anger is not "tool to tell you that something is wrong"! Many people feel anger during misunderstandings.
Shame! most of it, is cultivated by fear. Most of the time it is not warranted, and it has been used by societies to control people. Shame is a real emotion and has its place, but many times it's percetpion caused deep emotional trauma for people.
I think all emotions are valid. Removing hate and anger will just make us careless. Removing envy will lose our motivation. Removing fear will make us reckless. Removing sadness will just make us unsympathetic. Those negative emotions are like the painful truth nobody likes to hear.
Wrong, removing "caring" feeling
makes careless, but look at the angry people about "injustices " to animals ir people. We need to educate people not to get angry about injustices.
And without anger, people will only been courage to do injustice is because nothing can intimidate them from doing it. It's a last resort if people can't learn. Even if you educate them and even if they know what they do is wrong, they still mean not care because they believe their motivation is more important than what people think.
Agreed.
Confidence I think we could all benefit from less confidence
Seems you ladies will be in charge as more and more men take on sentiments such as his. Thus leaving women to become more and more un-naturally masculine in pacified men’s stead. Good luck ladies.
@lyrem04 in my opinion the world would be a better place if they weren't so sure so confident about themselves their knowledge and their beliefs. Cognative humility I would like to call it. Confidence has more downs than ups in my experience. Since we are all way way more wrong than we are correct.
@Stevepro68 oops forgot to tag u
I'd go with envy, if people spent more time trying to obtain what other people have instead of bieng pissed off they don't have it the world would be a better place.
The first thing you described IS ENVY. "Envy is the feeling or wish that you have something that someone else has." That is the word.
People who don't see an issue with being unloyal. Forget erasing the emotion I'll erase the human beings. 😂
Fear I suppose. Fear has the ability to torment.
Jealousy / envy. SO STUPID. Serves zero purpose except to mindfuck yourself into being a disregulated threat.
Probably jealousy because I've heard jealousy can lead people to do terrible things
I would love to see "Anger & Hate" go away forever.
The thief of joy… jealousy
Fear and hate they’re cause of murder and reason they creat laws.
Evil, or whatever would you call that toxic kind of emotion, some people just like doing evil to other people, I would like to erase it.
I think that jealousy is the emotion that causes the most pain and is not anything that has any upside
I would be tempted to say anger, but I think there would be unforeseen consequences. For instance, controlled anger can motivate social change.
How? By arson? Why not by TALKING?
@strateguy632 By standing up for what one believes.
Pain. Emotional, psychological and physical.
gmabling in my horse betting app has pretty much erased my sadness
Sadness. It tends to be the source of a lot of bad stuff.
Hate.
Agreed.
Hatred. It’s just so toxic.
hate might have less murder.
I wouldn't want to do that.
Anger. Because people need to relax
Hate.
Guilt
I've been plagued by guilt regarding sex since I was 15
Only in 50s did it finally begin to go away
Either greed or anger.
I'd choose greed though.
Anger
Anger solves nothing
Envy
@LiaRaven jealous
Jealously... Source of many wars
And it's also the source of many innovations and creations
@Aiko_E_Lara I think innovation is created by admiration not really jealousy that's one negative but it's close enough
If jealousy is just a corrupted form of admiration, then one can easily describe admiration as a sane version of jealousy. Those feelings already exist before they were given a term and they may have the same terms before they were being specified further.
@Aiko_E_Lara wow you really are an incredible woman I like that. I agree with you completely. You must have a very lucky boyfriend or husband. Must be great having a conversation with you
I'm a dude and if you're just being sarcastic, then you're just making excuses to end this argument for losing credibility.
@Aiko_E_Lara I'm sorry I wasn't trying to be sarcastic or rude. my mistake
The sad face!
