Or at least charge single people more for taking up more space that multiple people can live in.

What Girls Said
The homeless problem largely stems from we build too many large expensive multi bedroom properties and not enough single occupancy despite the number of single people growing year after year. It's ridiculous in parts of the UK we have professional people having to house share while councils give the jobshy, neverdowells, and women who can't be bothered to use contraception large council houses at peppercorn rents.
They can either get better jobs or find a partner then, no? If they work on themselves and be better people they can achieve that. There's plenty of posts here on how to find a partner, they can get that Info for free.
No, neither should take priority over the other. But I do think that people with children should take priority over people without children. Kids need a roof over their head regardless of the choices their parents made.
Should singles or couples in larger homes be repositioned for families that need the space?
No, I don’t believe that anyone should be moved for families to take their space.
Why not? The families would have higher priority, hurting a family seems more detrimental than hurting couples or singles
Because everyone has a right to housing, and no one should be removed from their home to make way for someone else. I believe that families should take priority over couples or single people when applying to properties, but they should never take over someone’s home.
If there are kids why not evict a single person or couple for a family? When applying it could be like people at a restaurant without a reservation, then the party entitled to the space shows up, they gotta move.
Similar to people giving spots on a bus or train for pregnant women, or old people.
Social housing systems should prioritize based on need, considering factors like homelessness, disability, low income, and safety risks, rather than solely on marital status.
