Asked boyfriend favorite part on my body and he said my butt?

Last night, I asked my boyfriend what his favorite part of my body is. When he told me my butt, I was so hurt. So what he doesn’t like my face? We had kind of a different beginning to our relationship… He wasn’t chasing after me or courting me for dates. It makes me feel like he’s not really attracted to me. So, last night when he responded that way, I said “oh great so now I know you’re not attracted to me“. He got really defensive… And said “I tell you you’re beautiful all the time”. He does compliment me every day now… But like I said, we had a very strained beginning of our relationship and it’s a long story. I can’t help but feel like I’m not his type because in the beginning we were together, but he didn’t want a relationship with me. It wasn’t until later that he came around, showing affection and attraction for me Outside of the bedroom. Many men find me very attractive, I would say I’m above average in my looks. I’m not insecure by any means in the way I appear, I just feel like I’m not his desired look in a woman. Especially after that comment.

Ok you hit upon a sore spot for me. My ex wife I failed to recognize early on she was self conscious about her face. Childhood teasing and trauma because her nose was a little large. Early in our relationship I was young and stupid and basically felt honesty was paramount. She asked me once who had a prettier face my ex or her. My ex was very heavy but she had a pretty face kind of exotic with red hair and blue eyes. So I said... Wait for it... My Ex. I was never ever again able to convince my eventually wife that I thought she was beautiful. It was the first spoke in the eventual end of our 20 year marriage. So much so that when she was cheating on me she just assumed I was cheating on her.. so now jump a head lesson learned. My current girlfriend of 5 years is a retired SW. She is otherworldly beautiful I mean guys and girls just putty for her. It's funny to watch. I am a big dumpy old man compared to her. She knows she is beautiful but her time in the business has taught her that her ass is... Wait for it... Legendary. 😂. So she has no problem when I tell her ass is my favorite body parts. However like all women, even her most beautiful co-workers, they all have insecurities.. She doesn't have big boobs and she and I both appreciate a nice big set. The point of the long you this is. I honestly think she is perfect. It's not a lie. I love the natural way her boobs are they aren't big but yet perfect. She hates when she smiles that due to her Asian heritage they disappear. She not perfect but she actually loves me wants me. When she looks at me this way there isn't a woman in the world More beautiful. She is my heart and soul I can't Express to you... how I do not sit there and want her because of her nice butt. She just the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. Don't let your insecurities drag you down if you can help it. I don't know him but if he is just an average guy. He didn't think you were asking do you find me beautiful? Oh yes and my ex wife always thought I was into tall girls because that what she saw me date before her. And my current girlfriend exact same height as my ex wife. Sometimes what you think is going on in his head isn't.

Thank you for taking the time to write all of that. It definitely did help me. Unfortunately the beginning of our relationship has been a lot to overcome. I helped rescue him from a life of homeless drug addiction. So he was pretty crazy and I can’t really hold him accountable for his behavior then.

He was after his ex-wife and other women but would use me for sex and I wanted it too. I loved him, but he didn’t love me back until much later when he healed. We do have an incredible love, but because of the past, I do have insecurities with him. I don’t want that to get in the way of our future and I’m strong enough to put it back in the password it belongs. I don’t wanna lose him or you love his unique. He does love me deeply and beautifully now, but these old scars resurface sometimes and I don’t like being insecure because I’m not an insecure person. Insecurity can really destroy a relationship just like what happened with you and your ex-wife.

You're a girl. We look at things differently. I liked my ex's hands (big and strong, warm and comforting), his big eyes and his stupid smile. But if I asked him what his favorite part me was he'd stare at my ass and then politely tell me it was my shoulders or something that he thinks I want to hear -- anything above the neck is polite.
