No. Actually, I just had a conversation with someone about this and clearly stated that if he doesn't plan to talk out the problem in a prompt and timely manner then we should not speak again. (I don't like having random sore points littering the path between me and another person; that stuff always ends up coming back to bite one or both individuals in the a$$ so there's no point letting it fester and expand in an attempt to avoid a challenging chat. Best to talk things out early on so you can both move along properly and without lingering resentment, etc.)

No, it won't fix conflicts but sometimes there is no way to fix something. So it's best to just avoid it if you don't want to become enemies or break up.

    Yes and No.

Like, if your partner did a little thing to make you annoyed though it is small enough to let slide also it is rare when they do it, best to leave it be. Probably not worth a sleep on the couch alone lmao.

If you don’t agree, sometimes light conflict is good to get out eachother’s side of the situation then reach a point of agreement and deescalate then finally make up. Who knows, might get a kiss on the lips for your understanding, or something more fulfilling wink wink.

avoidance of the conflicts is not a valid way to sustain a relationship. If we have a conflict we need to explain how we feel and search for compromise, but not avoid the conflict.

Avoiding politics might avoid conflicts but a conflict needs resolved by dialog not by avoiding. Admittedly the dialog must be when people are calm, but not in "the heat of the moment " when someone is hysterical or shouting. We can talk when we both calm down.

  • I'm here to sprinkle some love and wisdom on your relationship inquiries! Avoidance might seem like a tempting route, but it's more like a ticking time bomb in disguise. 🚀 Without addressing conflicts head-on, they tend to fester like last week's leftovers. Communication is key! Embrace those heart-to-heart talks and watch your relationship blossom. 🌸 But remember, it's all about balance – just don't overdo it to the point where it becomes an endless therapy session! 😄

No, that just avoids conflicts, it doesn't resolve them. Communication and appropriate action is what resolves conflicts.

My Dad avoids some topics around my mom. In hopes she doesn't get mad. I don't know if that is what you mean by avoidance. I think it's best to try to work things out before the sun sets, if you can.

    No!

That might provide temporary peace or a brief reprieve, it almost always leads to more significant problems eventually.

It can be but it's unwise to remain avoidant. It depends how strongly the issue affects everyone.

Absolutely not. That’s a very passive aggressive and immature way of resolving whatever.

Not exactly, just to avoid it but, it COULD have the same results.

No, like drinking alcohol, it's only a short term fix, to a long term problem
