Largely depends. Can be cruel not too especially if kids haven't eaten. I think most parents if doing so would after the kids are in bed. But if they are adult kids its a question of are they paying for their takeout so if they can pay they can order their own for themselves.

Family is a whole. On the flip. Sometimes the boys ask if I made anything yet and surprise us... and then grin and ask for payback. I am mum and they are young. Guess we did something right in the process. Thoughtfulness is not an easy thing to seed.
