No one likes being rejected but me personally doesn’t have a fear of it, mainly because I rather have an answer instead on no answer at all , when I see a beautiful girl that catches my eye , I go for it , instead of missing my opportunity to do so , I don’t land every girl , but I have more positive outcomes than negative ones , by me not being shy , We aren’t mind readers so we don’t know what someone else is into or not , We don’t know someone’s relationship status either because we don’t walk around with signs flashing over our heads stating what our current situation is or what we are into. So when I see a beautiful girl with beautiful eyes and body , I go for it , hoping she likes me the same

Been rejected enough times growing up to have made pretty much every choice available somewhere in my life.
Sometimes it motivated me to prove people wrong.
Sometimes it confirmed to me that I was useless at something so I gave it up.
Sometimes it made me learn to speak out.
Sometimes it made me move on in life, leaving somewhere behind.
Sometimes it made me just accept that I was not that woman's 'man'.
There's usually plenty more context surrounding the rejection: what was the attitude of parents (particularly pushy ones growing up)? Had I reached a natural limit or not? Was this some part of life where I was happy being average, doing it for social reasons rather than competitive/career ones?
One thing I can say is that the higher the limits you push for, the more you are likely to experience rejection. I'm minded to say that if you've never been rejected, you've never really pushed yourself outside your comfort zone.10 Reply
1 yMy earliest memory of rejection is by my father. Which has installed a fear of rejection for me onwards.
This has meant that I've not met a lot of rejection in my life, since I spend a lot of my life not trying - in fear of being rejected and the rare occasion I did try, I actually succeeded. Now I'm semi over that fear, it's so deep rooted that it will probably always be there, however I can push it to the side and try. (Most of the time)

1 yMany times in my life I've been rejected.. from the age of 5 I was bullied and ostracized because I was shy and quiet. Which then in turn made me more shy and quiet because I learned no one outside my family liked me. As I got older I began hating others and made myself more unappealing because I hated myself and everyone else. Now people are nicer but I still keep everyone at arms length even people I claim are friends.

Rejection is like that unwanted guest at a party, right? 🎉 Rejection in any form can pinch, but it’s also life’s way of nudging us in a better direction. I've faced rejection in both love and work, and each time, it was a lesson in disguise. Whether it’s that crush who ghosted or a job offer that never came, I embraced it. No fear of rejection can withstand self-acceptance and humor. Hold your head high and strut through life like you're on a catwalk! 💃 Keep shining and don't sweat the small stuff!

u 1 yhmm, no... I don't have a fear of rejection, and I don't think I have experienced it much
I have not been in many situations in which I felt that I was not "good enough" for something or someone... of course I was not good enough for some things, but I already knew this and I knew why, so I didn't feel deserving or entitled to it
if I really wanted it, then I earned it... eventually got it, and if it wasn't for me... then it was just not going to work for me, generally speaking I didn't have issues with this... if I suck at something then it is what it is, I just suck at it, lmao
basketball for example... I was never really good at it, I didn't like it much either, so I just never tried it but for other sports that were much more difficult and challenging, I kept trying till I made the cut10 Reply 382 opinions shared on Relationships topic. Sure I have.
When I did my masters I applied to 7 schools
6 of them rejected me
I applied for lots of internships and jobs and most rejected me except for the ones who didn’t
I’ve been rejected by people I thought were my friends. And ended up making much better friends elsewhere
And I’ve been rejected in dating as well.
And I used to be bothered by that.
But then I realized that every rejection I ever got was a reluctant one.
The person rejecting me had considered me at least
When I met a guy recently I was introduced to the true meaning of rejection by watching him talk to girls
The way they tell him to get away from them with pure disgust is absolutely brutal
This has never once happened to me
(But I’m also not a buffoon like him)10 ReplyIt is something that one must get comfortable with… the earlier the better….
I used to hurt when relationships would end.. for better or worse…. But by the time I hit high school I completely mastered my feeling of expectations and rejection.
Never have I ever been let down or broken down due to being let go, fired, laughed at, ridiculed, or heartbroken.
That word “rejection” to me resonates as temporary… I can easily walk away from something I’ve invested a lot of time into without looking back. I think we owe it to ourselves to live life moving forward…10 Reply
Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yYeah I was at basketball pickup game once and was denied a spot because I was white. Which violates the traditional rules of pick up ball. But if they didn't want me on thier team then I wasn't going to fight to be on it. Instead I waited till the game was over and then joined the team that opposed them and then lit up the scoreboard against them. Including hitting the game winning 3 pointer. Then the guy that was guarding me that I had clowned told me it was a lucky shot. To which I said what were all the others? And what were the 75 other ones I hit on the far court before this game? And if you truly believe that put your money where your mouth is. 20 bucks says I make it again right here, right now. He just laughed it off and walked away. He didn't want this smoke.

1 yI'm a guy so I've been rejected hundreds of times. I just accept it and move on. No drama. I don't need explanations. I don't dwell on it. Everyone has the right to decide who they are gonna hang out with. And they don't need to explain their choices. I'd much rather get that response than someone "being nice" and wasting my time. A small unpleasantness for a short moment in time. Next...
10 Reply In relationships or in situations where I showed interest in a girl, many times. It 's something that you gradually come to accept, but it's always a bummer when it happens.
In a professional setting, the first time I got fired was tough. But being on the other side in a later stage in life, i. e. managing a department and hiring new people, I learned that it's almost always due to the company's priorities shifting and/or financial reasons that make reducing personnel unavoidable.
10 Reply562 opinions shared on Relationships topic. Jobs are a recent one for rejection for me both them and me rejecting if I'm honest. It's been multiple applications I've made to roles and places I'd like to take but they're ghosting and declining without reason. Turning down offers isn't nice either when you find out how desperate or poorly paid (salaries are seldom advertised) so you waste time applying.

1 yI've never been rejected, and I don't have fear of rejection either because there is nothing to lose by being rejected (if she isn't interested, then she isn't a match, so at that point I see it as dodging a bullet).
But I've also never initiated interest because it takes me years to become interested, and only weeks or months for any girl who liked me to start hitting on me.10 Reply
1 yOf course I’ve been rejected everyone has, lol. Rejection usually happens early on, so it doesn’t really affect me since nothing serious ever happened. I just shake it off and move on to the next goal ;)

1 yI’m autistic, which apparently comes with a very high sensitivity to rejection. It’s taken me a while to recognize that just because things don’t go my way when trying to interact with someone once or twice, it doesn’t mean I’m a horrible person.

1 ynot in dating, but i have been by just people
it sucks and it definitely stays with you even if you're past it. you just process it for like two days and move on bc what else is there to do10 Reply - 305 opinions shared on Relationships topic.
1 ySure, it's no big deal, you just move on to the next girl. Women have types that they like. The chance of you being their type is pretty small.

1 yOf course i've been rejected. Several times. I don't do anything in particular to "deal" with it. Jut just felt bad. Sort of a "it is what it is" situation. Can't help it anyway. Gotta accept it.

1 yYes definitely, rejection is never pleasant per say. I guess I don’t take it as a personal attack. I think men see it as an attack on their manhood, that’s why in developing countries men throw acid at women who reject their sexual advances.

Anonymous(30-35)1 ySo many times, and you don't deal with it. You just accept you're going to feel awful and unattractive for the next two weeks maybe more depending on how much you like the girl.

10 ReplyYep, a lot. Usually rolled with it. A few were real disappointing and they were tough. A couple were smart-assed so I said thank God you said no and went on.
