Can the phrase ''my love of my life'' also be applied towards your child?

Honestly my love of my life isn't just my husband (my life partner and commitment) but also our son. Obviously, not in the romantic nor partnership manner but the deep, devoted love towards him; my lifework, my future (his success is mine) and my world; literally the most important person ever... my precious gem.

Ever since feeling his first kicks and then having him in my arms (after my C-section, which is also painful the following day... the pain lasted for even a couple weeks so it's not an easy surgery; 7 layers of skin are cut... all that just to give birth), I can already picture myself shielding him from any danger, even if it meant using my body as a shield. While I'm still afraid of some dogs, that fear comes in 2nd place. My worst fear is something bad happening to my son. A small example of that is when he was given his very first vaccine and I immediately started crying too. It felt as if his pain (when that painful needle pinched his small body) was running towards me, as if they were doing it on me even though I wasn't the one vaccinated.

Literally my love of my life. Many times that ''love of my life'' phrase is applied towards an spouse but can it also be used to describe the love towards your child too?
