I've noticed this personality within me ever since I was a kid. My parents always spoke to me in harsh tones and were old-school. They never tried other, softer approaches first. It was always the harsher one as first and only resort. When I was 13, I threatened to call the cops on them if they touch me. I wasn't the type of child to submit easily to punishment or threats as first resorts. I hated being dominated, always did. I was never the ''thanks for the good whooping, I'm a great person'' type that praises that. No thanks. I'll never say thanks to that.
When I was 16, I did reported them, exaggerated the version, got them jailed, placed with my aunt and a whole other things. One time when a boyfriend was getting in my face during an argument and threatened to slap me, I threatened to scream loudly and get him busted for other serious charges, that I will ruin him if he ever hits me. It lead to an immediate break-up and we blocked each other.
I've been told by others that my personality seems too strong that someone stubborn, someone of dominant character isn't for me. Fast-forward, the man I'm engaged too and whom I've never had a single argument ever is of very mild-tempered, hates hitting children, hates fights, never speaks in harsh tones and is very soft. I've found myself calmer... as if that's what I needed the whole time... someone soft, a polar opposite.
I've always found myself being gentle to softer people. If I'm strong-willed and tough, someone tougher makes me stressed, not wanting to be controled.
