Why does my dad always ask if I’ve spoken to my guy friend? Why would he think my current boyfriend is a huge mistake?

My dad said, “Do you talk to (let’s call him Eddy? When was the last time you talked to him?” How’s does he feel about you dating this guy?”
I got annoyed and said, “Stop. He’s not my boyfriend. He texted me the other day but not everyday. We’re just friends.”
He looked at me and said, “Oh COME ON! He obviously likes you. You outta give him a chance. He’s better than those jerks that wouldn’t even give a damn about you. Some took advantage of you because you are special needs. It’s good to have a man that can relate to you. See you’re blushing.”
Eddy isn’t my boyfriend because if he was, we would be going out on dates, calling everyday and he would flirt. He does NONE of that. My best friend said, ”Maybe he’s afraid to admit it or flirt because you may reject him. He calls you his girl a lot so it’s OBVIOUS that he wants you to pay attention and notice him. We’ve all seen the way he looks at you. You’ve been paying attention to these typical men that won’t give you the time of day bad they’re out of your league (good looking, fit and lean).”
I’m a bit chubby, tall and a big girl just like Eddy is also chubby, tall and a big boy. He always chasers me and never the cute, good looking, or hot girls. Or shorter thin girls. He won’t even give my thin, tall cousin a chance and always looked at me. I’m not even good looking. And I’m chubby. I always attract fat or chubby men.

Ever since that day my dad asked if he had a girlfriend and my guy friend said no and then said I was his girlfriend. It was a joke.

My current boyfriend and I have been dating for three months. He’s neurotypical, so good looking and cute. He’s a great guy. My dad thinks he’s alright but told me I’m baking a huge mistake and he may break my heart.
