How about a compromise that my parents used their entire lives. They agreed never to go to bed angry. They argued from time to time, but always resolved things before bedtime.

In a long term relationship you'll eventually have your lows and those lows are necessary for you to grow in your relationship. Me and my Partner rarely fight it literally happens a handful times a year and while it sucks when it happens afterwards our relationships solidifies a bit more.
