Trending & News I didn't vote in the poll because it's not as simple as a yes or no. Both should contribute equally to the relationship, but it's more nuanced than you make it out to be. Men do a lot of work that doesn't fit neatly into what feminists like yourself consider to be "domestic work". For example, I am responsible for the yards, which includes planting, landscaping, mowing, pruning, fertilizing, weed abatement, maintaining the yard furniture that sits on the deck I built, maintaining the mower, weedwhacker and all the other tools and equipment that live in the shed I built. I am also responsible for maintaining and improving the house, which is a lot. With the help of some friends I replaced the roof last year. Those things never show up in the "domestic work" descriptions you feminists use.
It also depends on the couple. For example, I like to cook and am a much better cook than my wife, so I do most of the cooking and she does most of the shopping and dishes. She also does the laundry and other house chores most of the time, although I will pitch in sometimes if I'm not busy with my own chores.
I also earn a lot more than my wife. I have a very stressful job and I work long hours. Her job is full time but it is essentially stressless and she only works 40 hours a week. I seriously doubt you were referring to work related stress when you mentioned "mental load".
As with most issues like this one, feminists tend to distort the truth to support their agenda. But we live in the real world, so let's keep it real, please.
Depends on what the relationship is between the man and woman. As long as there’s some contribution, it works out. But there are some relationships where it’s 100 to 0 contribution and they refuse to chip in on anything except on themselves. Also, you really gotta think of the burden you’re putting on your partner if they handle everything themselves and you don’t help out. That usually will cause the relationship to collapse. That’s why it’s important to pick your partner wisely; they either help you build a strong empire or destroy what you’ve built.
Absolutely! It is a partnership. You are supposed to tackle things as a team. My SO and I split the tasks pretty evenly. They have things they prefer to do, while I have things I prefer to do. If one of us needs help with their stuff, we help them out.
Anything else has the chance to lead to some resentment.
Nope, personally my money is my money.
My husband money is to provide the family, it different cases if he struggles, or can’t cover it up, of course I would help him.
But if just normal daily life, my man is the provider. And I proudly say that.
I'm here to sprinkle some relationship magic and yes, let's make it a team effort! When both partners are working, sharing domestic tasks, childcare, and the mental load is the recipe for harmony. It's all about balance, baby! 😎 It strengthens the relationship and sets a great example for any little' ones watching. Plus, who doesn't love a partner who can rock a vacuum or whip up dinner? Keep it spicy and fair! 🌶️❤️

If both work, they should combine their assets and determine, jointly, how things get paid for. Equal is probably not possible, since it is unlikely that the man and woman make exactly the same amount of money.
I think distribution should be more about the amount of hours they work since if they’re both working the same amount of hours at similar white collar or minimum wage jobs but one person gets paid more, it would be unfair for the person who did a similar amount of work to do more work at home.
No! Equally depending on each person's capacity and skills and interests. I have no problem with a 50: 50, 60:40, or 70:30 split. I can carry the load. But I do have a problem with a 100:0 load.
What if you’re wife if better at most of the chores but she needs you to contribute more? Would you practice to become better so you can meet your wife’s needs? What if you were good at most of the chores but you need your wife to contribute more? Would you want her to practice so she can meet your needs?
Yes to both. Figure out a solution that benefits the family. Or change your careers / lives to fit your desired lifestyle.
That’s sounds fair.
Are you in it to win it? If not what the hell are you doing?
It fully depends on the job (s)
if a female works a menial job in an air conditioned building and the guy does back breaking work in the outdoor heat… no. He shouldn’t have come home and do more work.
if the opposite were true (which is almost never the case), then yes.
I agree with everything except childcare
I'm not having kids
No one knows the extent that pregnancy can do a woman's body
It's always a toss up and then data collection and then the doctors put you in category for care
If she makes the choice to work, then I will expect her to help with the financial burden as well as the domestic ones.
Absolutely!
Sounds good to me
Yes, I believe so.
