Yes they definitely can. You don't need to have even been in a relationship to give solid relationship advice. All you need is emotional intelligence, logic, and social tact to know what advice to give.

Here's some classic GaG examples

"My boyfriend seems to be losing interest and is talking less to me? What do I do?"

Communicate with them. Ask them what issues they have in a relationship. Tell them you're not satisfied with the level of effort. Nothing changes if you don't communicate.

But if you’re single after having been in a long term relationship or a few relationships over a set of years then you have things to say

But the person giving dating advice needs one main thing: they need to care about your happiness more than they care about their own opinion.

There’s a saying about woman but I think it applies to everyone:
“Single women keep women single”

It’s definitely a common thing when the advice giver is bitter or jealous or irrationally mistrusting of a person they barely know.
So they use their advice to sabotage the relationship usually by pushing their friend to ask for unreasonable things and then say “a better partner would do it”

Just because someone is currently single, doesn't mean that they've always been single. They may have something worthwhile to offer, which they've learned from previous relationships.

Sure, they've witnessed relationships be it there own past ones or those of their parent's and friend's

Yes I think anyone can give advice. But that doesn't mean they can understand and do it well. someone in a relationship can't understand what my relationship is like either. Only the 2 people in it can. However I think it's easier to see things when you aren't attached to what you are trying to fix. Personally I'm not afraid to take advice from anyone, but it has to be good advice. Someone doesn't always have to understand my problem to fix it. Sometimes a fix is a fix and why isn't important.

It's more suspect if they have never been in a relationship before, but just because they are single today doesn't necessarily mean they can't give solid advice. Certain if they haven't had a longterm relationship or every relationship has been a disaster, then you probably don't want advice from them.

yeppers. They are single for a reason. I was single for a long time after I divorced my ex-wife who was cheating on me after about 6 months.
After that I enjoyed my freedom to come and go as I pleased, I called it my second childhood.
Money, cars, motorcycles and I really had no desire to be in a relationship.

I just keep `em in a jar on the window sill in the bathroom. If I need them, I just glue them on.
One time I got them mixed up with the jar that has my eyebrows and I glued the pubes to my eyebrows. It was really great though because it was snowing a lot that day and it kept the snow out of my eyes.
