Couples, which one of you sleeps closer to the bedroom door?

There's some evidence that, in bed, women like to sleep closer to the bedroom door, leaving the man farther from the door.

I can say that my ex-wife and my current wife do that, each picking their side of the bed that's closer to the bedroom door, whether we are at home, visiting friends/family, in a hotel room, or in a cruise ship cabin.

You know? I've never thought about it, but I think traditionally I've always been closer to the window when I was married -- let the "big strong protector" guard the door. We never talked about it or thought about it... it just happened. Except at our first place, which was a studio with an awkward sofa bed.

I've always slept the furthest from the bedroom door, but the reasons for my doing so have had nothing to do with the location of the door, and more so to do with the window location, the bathroom, and maybe some other less significant reasons.

When in restaurants, I do consciously sit so I can see the door, so I can prepare myself for action if I see that trouble might be brewing.
Not that I expect trouble when dining, but one never knows.

I wouldn't say its any of those. I mean bedsides were never consistent,(as in what night stand was used, sometimes they separate, swapped or we shared) same goes for the door….


I have this belief though, if they sleep closest to the door then they have some unconscious fear about their partner, if the sleep away from the door than its trust….


Further from the door:
If an attacker comes in then there is a force they would need to overcome before getting her,
Closer to the door:
If she would need to run from her man he would not be an obstacle to the exit.

Depends on the bed. I have been with people who just have a preference for the left side or right side, so who is next to the door depends heavily on where bed is situated in the room. In my bedroom I sleep next to the door, in my girlfriends bedroom she sleeps next to the door. I had the same experience with my male exes. I'm a person who can sleep anywhere and at any time. I barely have sleepless nights. So I'm very flexible in where I sleep and on what side of the bed.

To be honest I think I'm more dominant when it comes to men, now I think about it I usually picked my spot when I was with them 😂. Many of the men had their beds pushed to the wall and I do love the quick exit. I get sick more often so I'd like to leave the bed quicker.
With women I always let them pick and I accept whatever they choose, but the women also have both sides of the bed free.
I always had a 1.40m x 2m bed. So bigger than a bed for 1 person, but smaller than the regular double beds that are usually 1.80m wide. Works fine for me and my exes/partners.

I stay away from the door in case a thief or attacker or ghost decides to barge into the room. I want to be in the corner instead. Plus, it feels cosier. I prefer even corner seats while dining and when we go to the movie, so I don't feel too cold. 😐

With both my wife and my boyfriend, I sleep further away from the door on nights I am with one or the other. I am actually a deep sleeper that's pretty oblivious to the world when sleeping so I rely on them to protect me in case someone breaks in lmao

Always do. Like I won't go to sleep unless all the doors around me are locked or closed. When downstairs with my boyfriend, the garage door has to be locked too. Plus they sleep closer to the door as I said. We also have weapons nearby in case someone does break in.

My wife sleeps on the side nearest the door that leads to the living room.
I sleep on the side nearest the master bath that leads to the laundry room that has a door to the back yard and a door that leads to the kitchen. I am also closest to the gun safe and large windows.

It was her choice. She basically wanted to be on the left side of the bed. I don't think she was worried about which door to be near.

I know introducing him to my parents was a big mistake. I guess part of me wanted to see if he actually would turn up or maybe meeting my parents is a big deal to him too.

I now know that it’s not a big deal for everyone and I was being very stupid to still hoping. I guess when he return the second time and told me how much he miss me and want to try again, I was hoping it was enough for him to change his mind about me. I just haven’t like anyone like I liked him, so it was hard to let go. I know not to continue anymore.
