We’re pretty close friends and there’s never been anything romantic between us, but sometimes I feel like he doesn’t have great boundaries.

Recently, he invited my boyfriend and me to dinner, but then told me that since we work near each other, he wanted me to go to the restaurant with him — which basically means my boyfriend would have to go alone. It made me feel kind of uncomfortable.

Am I overthinking this, or is that a bit weird?

Like my old buddy I was friends with since I was 7 we used to hangout alone all the time, have sleep overs, play video games, watch movies all the time and as we got older even when he had gfs he would still come over and hangout and watch movies and eat with me when I was home alone.. So there can be platonic friendships but you can't trust them all.. I don't necessarily think if you got off work at the same time it is that weird to go together but I guess if you think its weird ask you boyfriend what he thinks.
