Stable empathetic people generally learn from bad experiences as well as from others. Many narcissists have a entitlement complex. They will start testing someone’s boundaries and then… The stable empathetic person will put a stop to it.

It isn’t because they’re mean… it’s because they have learned to see through it many times because they have been taken advantage of before. They can see manipulate behavior a mile away. They can see fake behavior… they know when someone’s testing them. And in the end. The generally leave.

I don’t know if stability and empathy is any shield from a narcissist. But I can tell you how to stop one in his tracks, make his life miserable, and make him want to not be anywhere around you.

I’m an introvert. Some people call it an INTJ-A according to the Meyers Briggs view of the world. I have empathy and a conscience. But I can turn those things off when I need to and operate outside the normal constraints when required if someone violates my code of conduct. I can become like a narcissist, sociopath, or psychopath and then flip the switches back to normal behavior.

I can match their manic drive 24X7. There is no going around me. I can be extremely confrontational. I will humiliate them. Badly. Publicly. First time. Every time. Picture a blank shiny smooth nonstick surface. They have no emotional levers they can use against me. Insecurity, guilt, pity, all turned off. But I know all their levers and they can’t control themselves.

I can’t fix them. But I can make their life a living hell. Their greatest fears are having their delusions of grandeur shattered, being humiliated instead of being idolized, and having someone else in control of them.

Wanna get rid of a narcissist? Confront them ruthlessly and constantly. Give them nothing they can use to hold onto you. They run away pretty fast.

The passive second best solution is to go quiet. Block them. Email, text, phone, and social media. No contact.

Narcissists don't hate people. They are deeply insecure about themself and thus they have an extremely grandiose (which can be extremely positive or extremely negative) self image that they convince themself to be a true fact and they will lie and trick and betray everyone to keep that false self perception alive and stay deluded at all cost. That's what narcissism is.

It depends. Not all narcissists are inherently evil, and most do a pretty good job at competing to be the “best person” in the room because this is what they believe everyone in the world is doing. If they come across someone able to put down boundaries that clash with their values or what they think makes a person “best” in regards to relationships with others, they usually just end up avoiding them and not liking them, not really hating them per se.

You’re right. Some of them genuinely believe the lies and excuses and justifications they make. They genuinely do not believe they are doing anything wrong.

Some are indifferent… as long as they get what they want. They don’t care. They don’t feel remorse. But they don’t take pleasure or feel gratification either from being that way. They are indifferent… they don’t care.

Then there is people who are genuinely nefarious. Get off on hurting and betraying people

A stable, empathic person doesn’t react the way a narcissist needs them to.

They don’t break easily, they don’t chase, and they don’t feed the chaos.

Their calm makes manipulation fall flat.

So it’s not the person they dislike, it’s the loss of control.

At first they seem to love it. Until someone won’t deal with their shit anymore.. and they loose control.

They want someone who can be manipulated. They want someone whose boundaries can be pushed. But at the same time…. They also want someone who can do things for them. Make them feel safe. Provide. Etc.

So you can never genuinely please a narcissist. If you don’t give them what they want they become resentful. Eventually will discard you.

But when they see they can manipulate you. Obviously they don’t have any sort of respect for you then either. You’ll again…: be resented. Cheated on. Etc. until they find someone better in their minds to discard you for

You’re right, it’s a cycle that never really lands anywhere healthy.

In the beginning, they’re drawn to what feels grounding.

But once stability stops serving their control, it becomes a threat.

And that’s the trap,
you can be too strong for them to sway, or too soft for them to respect.

Either way, the outcome tends to repeat itself, because the issue isn’t the partner, it’s their relationship with their own emptiness.

You can’t fill a void someone keeps reopening.

And no amount of love or patience can change a person who refuses to confront themselves.

Narcissism is a fancy word for bullying. At the end of the day, that's really all they are.

I don't know if I'm an empath or any touchy-feely crap like that, but I can smell a narcissist like a fart in a car. My father was an extreme narcissist.

They tend to take a wide berth of me. Cause If they do try any shit, we will have a nice little one on one in a quiet place. Settle those feelings real quick.
