There are tons of people who remain single their whole life. You can choose if you want a relationship or not. If you want one, then you should be prepared to put in effort for not just yourself, but your partner as well. That's the point of a support system.

You help them get through their hard times and they help you get through yours. You share the good times together. You laugh with each other. You try your best to understand and make each other feel heard, etc.

I personally never understand people who decide they want to remain single for life. They're usually just afraid to get hurt or used, which I find illogical.

It is very possible to go all your life single, not finding a partner and living with them.

I don't think this is the ideal way to live one's life, but living with the wrong person could be worse than being single.

I tried very hard to find my partner, perhaps I needed help to tell me to search the right places more often.

I decided I needed to forget searching for my partner, and concentrate on my career, and looking after myself, and enjoying life being single.

If someone is not actively looking for a partner, I don't think a partner will come knocking on your door, so if you do want to find love living with a partner, you need to actively search for it.

I'm very sorry you feel that way, because there are people out there that will share with you a wonderful life.
I think it's all to do with priorities.
When I was younger my priority was to find a partner, but like you say, your priority now is with your business, your health, and the people you care about.
Hopefully you can squeeze some time in for dating, however bad the guys out there are, because I'm sure you will regret it if you don't.

I have a "soy boy" nephew who's nearly 40 and hasn't ever had a relationship with anyone.

He still lives with his parents.

He doesn't look like he's interested in others.

Additionally, he isn't interesting at all as well.

I guess he's accepted all that.

Perhaps he is boring, but I'm sure he's got some qualities better than anyone else.

Perhaps looking after his Mum can be a good quality.
I think people can find fault with everyone without too much trying, too fat, too thin, too old, too young etc.
I'm sure I've fallen foul of that situation, perhaps people are too shallow lol.

I looked for any good or benefits in what my nephew has chosen to live his life...
I can't find any.
He doesn't work.
He doesn't help around the house.
He's a genuine mooch on his parents.
He doesn't even know how to drive or take public transportation.
Both his parents are sick but he just constantly nags them to take him to wherever he wants to go.

Yes, I have. I can't tell you how many male coworkers have told me I was the smartest person there for not getting married. People who I thought were happily married. As one of them said: "it's just not worth it. If I could go back and not get married or have kids, I would."

anything is humanly possible. doesn't mean it's advisable or satisfying. it could be, but no doubt, you'd be denying yourself natural desires.

No. Humans live to a 100-120 tops. So not forever, but you can be single that entire time, I have to this point.👍

No I haven't given up per se. I just know the odds at this point are, this is it. At a certain age people are set in there ways. And if someone has been single they're probably very untrusting at this point. I'm not pulling teeth or getting my dander up. If I meet someone cool, if I never do, cool. As I said, I know the odds at this point.👍

100%. That is my current life experience. I'm more tahm attractive enough to get a qualoty women, but I lack the social skills to create something. I don't have anybody to help me, and I'm too intimidating to be approached.
