Simply speaking, biological mother gives you birth, keeping you in her womb during pregnancy and minimum up to your birth. She shares a genetic bond forming an inherent, early attachment. Normally a stepmother is the wife of a child's biological father, building a nurturing relationship over time. It is considered a supportive role, and managing daily care in a blended family structure. In very few cases, if a child is adopted by other couple, he or she will be having a complicated relationship - step mother and step father – both. In modern age, genetic mapping - DNA sequence helps to identify biological father and biological mother, and / or prove that child’s present parents are their biological parents or not. Biological mothers feel an immediate, fierce protective instinct and love of higher level. Stepmothers choose to adopt and love a child, marring child’s biological father and build connection and develop family relationship that was not by birth. A stepmother "steps in" to provide care when the child is with the father, acting as a support figure, whereas a biological mother typically holds the primary, natural and everlasting parental role. Psychologically stepmothers faces higher levels of anxiety, judgment, and pressure to prove their capability, and feel it as a hard job in balancing their role against the child's relationship with their original mother.
