When I was younger, I thought eating at restaurants and finding a boyfriend would make me happy. I wasted a lot of time on those two goals, which led to me, be underdeveloped in my fitness goals and personality goals.

Now I know there are millions, or at least thousands of things that can bring happiness, beyond who you are dating or what you are buying and enjoying.

For example, designing my own Art makes me happier than going on vacation. Learning a language makes me happier than going to a restaurant. Reading a book makes me happier than watching a movie. Studying philosophy makes me happier than going to a party etc….

Biggest red flag I ignored: someone who never took accountability. Every problem was “because of stress,” their ex, their parents, their boss… never them. I thought I could “love” them into changing. Classic fixer mentality.

Result? Emotional exhaustion, walking on eggshells, and a brutal lesson: if they never say “yeah, that was my fault,” run, don’t walk.
