Love is a dangerous emotion you should master before you put it in practice. I have personally never fallen in love with anyone else but my immediate family. However, that is not the same kind of love as the one you have for a total stranger I guess.

A number of people pretend that there is such thing as love at first sight and I say that would be infatuation and not love. How can you fall in love with someone you have looked at for 10 seconds but have no idea about them, their personality or character or whether they are criminals, addicts or whatnot.

I would never allow myself to make that mistake because love is something that you have to work for and it takes years to really know a person inside out because people are liars by nature and they will always want to hide something from you.

Oh yes, I've been through it a few times. I definitely don't regret being in love. It's deeply satisfying at the time, but it also hurts really bad afterwards. I think once you've experienced a few relationships that ended badly it kinda gets easier. You go into falling in Love ve with the understanding that it's important to protect yourself. You accept that it may end, and you prepare yourself to deal with that reality.
