3 moOf course, he doesn't know him and I don't know his either, but I'm happy to show him my phone whenever I want and I expect the same from him. We're both reasonable people and we know that every person has the right to have their own little secrets, which are only theirs. Otherwise, he knows very well that infidelity wouldn't pay off for him - the status, I'm protecting your eggs and taking care of them can change in a split second to, I'll make you scrambled eggs for dinner (your eggs) :-)))

3 moNope. I don't necessarily have a problem with him having it, but I don't believe it should be taken for granted, at least not at the early stages of dating. Generally, if you want to know something, just ask an about it. Normally there should be no need for the password anyway.

3 moPrivacy doesn't exist, if you have a clue of just what surveillance technology already existed a decade ago. Thus i wouldn't mind if a spouse/partner could wirelessly use my phone's camera/microphone 24/7. ㅤ

My aim on GAG is to decode relationship drama and turn it into clarity and chemistry 💋
Your partner having your password isn’t “required,” it’s about vibe and trust. If you’re hiding stuff, that’s a red flag. If they demand it, also a red flag. Best balance: nothing to hide, nothing to prove. Access is okay, surveillance is not. Privacy and secrecy aren’t the same thing.00 Reply

3 moI always give my partners fingerprint access and my passcode to my phone. They can access whatever messages I've sent others and everything. There shouldn't be any secrets in a trusting and loving relationship. However, I will not share my account passwords, whether it's bank, social media, or whatever. I have no issue showing them if they ask, and I'll show them on the spot without any hesitation. But giving someone else access to your accounts is just pure stupidity. You shouldn't trust people blindly. Some people are good at hiding their intentions really well. Just show "realistic" trust.
00 Reply 1.5K opinions shared on Relationships topic. I think that it up to the person who owns the phone in the world of today we don't have any thing anymore that we can call our own or private except for what is in our heart mind body and soul
I would allow my partner to have access to that information that I have on my phone
But I would also tell her you might not like what's on there but here you go00 Reply- 3.2K opinions shared on Relationships topic.

u 3 moIn my case, no, because I have clients who send me text messages about their legal matters and I have a professional responsibility to maintain those communications in confidence.

3 moI have mixed feelings about that. I believe that people are entitled to privacy, which is just your personal stuff that affects you. That could be old pictures, emails text messages of people that were important in your life, including an ex-boyfriend or a girlfriend. As long as you’re not acting on it, it’s OK to keep the equivalent of a photo album. However, the catches that people are not entitled to the right of secrecy, which is like privacy except it’s harmful to others if exposed. If one partner has a reason to believe the other may be cheating they have every right to ask for the phone unlocked and handed to them. As long as it’s reasonable and based on rational observations, it shouldn’t be a problem. You can have privacy and not keep secrets.
10 Reply3.6K opinions shared on Relationships topic. I've never had a girlfriend who wanted my phone or computer password - they've always known from my actions that they were my priority, so it was never an issue. Besides, most of my calls and messages are either from my parents or my customers, needing help with something or other.
My girlfriend only has Facebook, and that's because it's the standard way to communicate with her family in the Philippines. She talks to her mom every day and to her other family occasionally, but otherwise she's gardening or at Home Depot buying soil and seeds.00 ReplyI don't think it should be a requirement, no. Even in a relationship, people have a right to some privacy. It should be an individual choice made by both partners.
That being said; I would share my password, if my girlfriend/wife asked, and/or needed to use my phone. I don't care if she has access. That doesn't mean I condone snooping, though.
I would trust her enough to have access to my phone, but if she uses that access (or only wants it in the first place) specifically because she doesn't trust me, then that's a deal breaker for me.
Just as I would never go through my girlfriend/wife's purse, or search her car, even though I had access. Consent matters, even when it comes to personal property.

3 moHell to the no. In the past because I was a cheater, but now there's just always going to be something on the phone that can set off the other person, a :-), a weird search, it just seems unnecessary. Fuck now the phones are so advanced. It's not just text messages, you're really asking to open the person's brain. However, that being said, if a girl was ever insecure, I would open the phone for her and allow her to have at it. I also say that when you need to go through your partner's phone, whether they cheated or not, something is wrong, you don't normally need to go through the person's phone.
00 Reply 381 opinions shared on Relationships topic. I think it’s a healthy thing to do

3 moYour cellphone is sort of like your diary. It's for you alone. Private. I don't agree that everything in a relationship is shared. I no more want my partner shuffling through my cell phone than I want to look through his. You are NOT one person. You are individuals. You share, but not everything. People need space, even within a relationship.

3 moNo way, passwords are your private business. Your life is yours and no one no one no one should have it. Imagine that you leave home and left your phone and your partner has friends over and they go in and spy on your personal things inside. Also from studies that show that the majority of men are peeping toms so this is a giant NEGATIVE
TRUST yourself because you are with you your whole life.

3 moI see no issue with this and both my husband and I know each others digital password to get the phones open. Neither of us have any social sites so our phones basically are just full of necessary apps, phone and email numbers and the few photos we take using the phone.

3 moI don't think its necessary. I respect his privacy and he respects mine. That said, we do know each other's passwords for convenience. Often enough I'll ask him to grab my phone and text something to my mom when I'm doing something around the house. If I ever suspect him of hiding something he shouldn't, then that's something I can actually ask him up front about

3 moEhhh I don't know, it's the kind of thing where one day my phone is gonna be on the other side of the room and I'm gonna ask her to look something up or check a message or something. And she's going to offer to bring it to me and I'm gonna say "nah, it's the same as my card"
Which the look they give is always priceless (and if it's not then Im a little sussed because why weren't you surprised?)
00 Reply 2K opinions shared on Relationships topic. No. I would be very wary of someone who wanted to go through my phone. That's creepy and shows insecurity and lack of trust.
That being said, my wife and I have each other's passwords for convenience. Neither of us has any interest in looking at each other's phones, though. And there would be nothing to see if we did.
Nobody gets access to my laptop.00 ReplyWell this is one of those things where you're either in a relationship and "choosing" him/her over the rest, or you're just keeping secrets for each other. Which in turns means that the relationship is not gonna be healthy.
So the answer to the question is "Yes". Otherwise you shouldn't be in a relationship.
