What Guys Said
do you mean... three years since the start of a relationship?
or three years after the start, of... considering the possibility of a marriage?
Both are valid examples.
well, on the first situation... not everyone goes into dating or into a relationship with the goal of marrying any person you date... a good example for me where high-school and college, when I got into a relationship and a serious one too but our idea, and this was mutual, was not exactly to end up married one day, definitely not in HS... but that was a talk during the college years with my ex back then... we both agreed that marriage wasn't our common goal right away
as for the second scenario... again, after a couple, few years of a very and really good years and relationship, the idea to consider something else and something more significant for the long term future, that was a talk as well... and one that weeks and even months, and again... for similar reasons... we needed to be both sure that we had similar goals, plans and life styles that would complement and commit to each other, and in our case... it wasn't the case (we wanted to live and develop at very different places of this world, and for either of us to move out, would be very difficult)
but, at this point, if I were to agree that it was going to work out well... then nothing would hold us back, I'm pretty much ready for anything, with the right person, of course...
No hurry
