MANY reasons but it comes down to lack of integrity and self control. I don’t care what the excuse is. Many people cheat because the opportunity is there

For some people it’s genuinely just for sex. Some people are married even happily but they become bored with their sex lives even if they are active together much more if they aren’t. They want variety. Secondly, a lot of people also fantasize about what life would be like with someone else and they may explore that.

The relationship is lacking something. It could be lacking sex, could be that two people don’t feel understood by one another, could be that someone feels stuck in the marriage. Could be abusive. Could be anything…. And they are seeking some type of escape.

A lot of times cheating starts much earlier than people think. A lot of times once the cheating becomes obvious it’s been going on for a long time and they simply don’t care anymore. Some people even do it getting off to the betrayal and because it’s risky.

Cheating is nearly always the result of the cheater being selfish and self centered, which also means having lower moral standards.

If you aren't getting what you feel you need or deserve from your partner, you should first carefully examine your feelings and make sure your expectations are reasonable (often they aren't the). The next step is to address the issues with your partner. If you have done this multiple times and you still aren't getting what you need, the only moral option is to end the relationship. Cheating is never justifiable.

Thus, if you are cheating, you are amoral, selfish, and self-centered.

They were never loyal and also I keep hearing that many selfish men do not get the same kind of one on one attention from a really busy wifey when a new child is born so that is a lame excuse and really should be spotlighted and worked on before the child is born. This is just an example but of course you hear of wives being lonely when they are married to military men and are separated for months or years at a stretch.

It’s rarely just 1 simple reason.

Sometimes it comes from unmet emotional needs, disconnection, or feeling unseen over time.

Other times it’s poor boundaries, temptation, or people avoiding honest conversations in their relationship.

It doesn’t justify it but cheating is usually more about what’s lacking or unaddressed internally and in the relationship than just the presence of another person.

Different and similar reasons. It is in the nature of people to value what they have less than what they don't have. A stable husband becomes a boring husband. Compliments and desire from other men are more exciting than his. Women can go through cycles of wanting exciting bad boys then wanting a stable man that provides a stable but unexciting life. Then after enough of that they want exciting bad boys again.

It doesn't really help that social media portrays carefully curated lives that most likely don't exist in real life and that any genuine life will compare poorly too.

Men i think would still cheat for simple sexual excitement but possibly to have a woman who is nice to them.

Cheating would be crossing a red line. But some men or women might chose to do so because they think the consequences are inexistent. Play with fire and you risk getting burnt.

It could be lust, deep attraction or the attention they get from someone who isn't their partner.
